As usual, you are the tits, IJAG.

I'm conflicted, though. I'm a big fan of Kimbo, but he looked like shit for the first two rounds, although his ground game was a bit better than I expected. It still wasn't all that good, but he was stronger than I thought.

He landed some nasty combos in the second round and again in the third, but the ref saw all the blood and rushed to judgment. I think Kimbo would have knocked him out with a few more punches, but still....let it go.

Not a knowledgeable fan about MMA at all, but I watched the show and came away with a few thoughts. Didn't like that the ring intros lasted longer than most of the fights, it seemed like one fighter was "the favorite" and the announcers would hype whatever he or she was doing even as he or she was getting their ass kicked, it seems like there is a new "it" fighter every month, I don't know how you can market a particular fighter so aggressively when so many people are going to see that fighter get pummeled, regardless of whether they win or not.

The women's fight was easily the best of the night. Gina whatever, the girl that won, beat the piss out of the other poor girl. Her left eye was awful-looking after the fight.

As a non-fan, I got my first exposure to it last night. And I must say, I liked it even though I was pre-disposed not to.

Enjoyed the Gina Carano fight. Enjoyed Gina Carano.

And we have a new dictionary definition for cauliflower ear. OMG. I agree, how did that thing NOT get drained before the fight?

Oh, yeah. One more thing. I don't believe that even the audience they were shooting for buys all the fucking ridiculous overstatement and breathless dramatics of the announcers. They were ludicrous.

Also, get this. On the undercard last night? Carlton Haselrig.

Kimbo is a joke. The WEC will have real fighters tonight.

Ah, that's the kind of inner-sanctum stuff you experts can battle out.

I remember seeing Mary Tyler Moore, Newhart and the Carol Burnett Show on Saturday nights. Wonder how Mary would have fared against Carol in the cage. Or Ted Baxter versus Tim Conway. Bob versus Murray?

Now there is a reliable, unbiased source.

You might as well ask the fox about the security system at the henhouse.
