My oldest is a huge whitewater kayaker and does Class 4 rapids; (I was with him at the start 3 yrs ago in the intro class) its amazing what they do in kayaks BUT bear in mind that this kayaking is worlds away from a fishing kayak. Controlling an enclosed kayak even on a simple little creek is not easy.

My kayak must have rod holders and room for a beer cooler.

I’ve got three nights lined up in Algonquin park at the end of the month. Hoping to hit fall colours but might be a shade early.

Accessing the park through a “town” with population zero that my grandfather lived in.

I think the market for boats is cooling. Seeing more for sale ads in my Facebook group and my favorite outfitter is running a sale this weekend for all sit-inside kayaks at $50 above cost.

It's a great time to buy new stuff - canoes and kayaks (new and used) - particularly those people who bought them during the pandemic when there was nothing else to do and now don't have time to hit the water.
