Is the camera as good a deal as it appears?
I have a nice new camera, so I'm not buying one, but if I were in the market, I'd have snatched that up in a heartbeat.

It looks pretty sweet. Optical zoom is only 3x, but that's not horrible.

This has been up before -- like in the last two months. I bought one from Tiger Direct and two days later this popped up. ANd had I not bought that camera, I would have bought this vivitar

Just realized I never posted my carrots:

The LED keychain many folks got

Some kind of Japanese gyroscope desk toy. All instructions in Japanese.

So I flipped over at 1 to see what was on sale: The Weather Channel Emergency Preparedness Kit (flashlights, gloves, batteries, dusk mask, instant cold compress, etc.)

How lame, I thought.

Then it occurred to me that that was rash of me. The Weather Channel is doing what it always does - keeping people safe. Maybe that thing saves someone's life, which would be one more than I've ever saved (well, except maybe for that kid who took my glove).

And then I felt a little down on myself for dismissing something out of hand that could really be of help to people - unlike the less critical stuff they usually sell.

Sometimes I wish I just wouldn't think so damn much.

Or maybe I'm just nuts. I don't know sometimes.

That kit is $30 in the stores...great price at $12.95. Wish I had seen it sooner.

I bought none, so no ass-kissing for me today.

I did relay that whole story to her this morning. I got a blank look when I finished and as she turned to finish brushing her hair, she said, "You know, I wonder about you sometimes."
