Adopting a custom is not stealing. And the natives of that culture need to calm down. Isn't a sign of respect and admiration to aspects of a culture that a restaurant owner would want to adopt some of the customs/cuisine?
And speaking of adopting customs, where is the outcry over Americans without a drop of Irish or Mexican blood celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo?

Hey ... I like mustard-based BBQ sauce. Not a damn thing wrong with it.

The entire culinary history of America consists of "cultural appropriation." Otherwise we'd have nothing to eat. This is ridiculous.

Except that there's mustard all over the meat.

It's not mustard. It's mustard-based BBQ sauce. Just like most other BBQ sauce is ketchup-based.

I like them both, except for the red sauces I find too sweet, which is unfortunately a lot of them.

You would probably enjoy Eastern NC style, which uses vinegar-based sauce.

I do. Aren't many styles of BBQ I haven't tried.

Still doesn't make it better, or in my case, good.
