Professional sports make most of their money in television, not gate receipts. The big difference is that baseball makes most of its television money locally/regionally while the NFL gets huge national packages and takes basically nothing locally.

Not boring when you put a few pennies on it. Then you become invested and start watching every single play and how crazy playcalling can be some times.

Any league in which the Giants and Lions are wild card leaders after 12 weeks is horsefuckinshit.

If there was no gambling and no fantasy football, the NFL would be as popular as the AFL.

I've always liked college football more than the NFL and the last few days is one of the reasons why.

Ah, the NFL at a live event....

Drunken people paying $100 or more a pop hoping to have a Coors Light in their hand and be shot for a future commercial or, as a consolation prize, a fan shot by CBS.

But it gets better. When Jerry's World opens, it's all about slick corporate looks in the lower rings at most facilities. After all what's good for the Cowboys is good for the rest of the National Finance League.

Natural, meaning New York teams can buy more talent than anybody else.

Combined titles for the Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Rangers, Devils, Islanders and Nets since 2000: 2

Combined titles for the Patriots since 2000: 3

Yup. The salary cap ensures competitive balance!

Maybe it's because Missouri finally doesn't suck, but this is the first year I have undoubtedly enjoyed college football more than the NFL, and it's not even close. I still follow the NFL closely, but the college game excites me much more these days.

It ensures that teams actually earn their success rather than having it handed to them by geography. The Patriots are doing this because they are smarter than everybody else. They have made one great move after another with very few fuck-ups.
