Teams are punished for being smart. They can't keep their own players for more than a couple of years. Teams can't stockpile depth. Do you think a Steelers of the 1970s or the 1980s Giants/Bears/49ers/Redskins or the Cowboys/Bills/49ers could exist today? No. Those teams all had depth. They would be able to keep their stars but the important non-star pieces that helped those teams win championships would be elsewhere.

Hey dude. I have no idea what the fuck happened. Apparently I pissed on OOP's Corn Flakes. Because there's no reason for him to drag this thread out of the muck and take a shot at me. Pretty clearly, we have differing opinions about salary caps and the state of the sport, but intelligent people can agree to have different points of view without resorting to cheapshots. Of course, OOP is a paranoid foof.

For the record, I agree with the premise of this thread. Where I am right now, I had a choice of Bills-Jags or Bucs-'Skins at one o' clock. Neither one of those games invoked memories of 'Boys-Niners circa 1992-1995.

Of course, apparently, it's not kosher to criticize the NFL.
