Seriously, this isn't a serious topic. I'm always amazed how one's passion for a particular sport often morphs into disdain for another sport.

My attempt at being serious lasted one sentence. I really do find pro football more frightening than boring; I was in an auto accident a few years back that laid me up for a while, and I know damned well that many of those hits taken repeatedly are worse than the one I took in that accident. It scares the bejeezus out of me when the headhunting starts.

You're far from alone, Hoops. I watched about 10 minutes of last night's game before losing interest. Then again, I'm that way with almost all pro sports, at least during the regular season.

About 160 million in the United States in 1955
About 300 million in the United State in 2007

I sure hope MLB sets record attendance in 2007.

I'm not even going to go into detail about vehicles and the ease to drive to a close stadium in 2007.

Except that MLB has had 30 teams for the last 10 seasons since the Arizona/Tampa Bay expansion.

MLB is being attended by more and more people every year.
