Go to Sonoma or don't, Linden. To have that drag out for six episodes is just silly.

That's one of my biggest gripes about the show. Day 7 was supposed to be her "last" day in Seattle.

Eh, I don't think that's a big deal. She's only put off the decision for seven days in real time even though it's been weeks to the viewers.

Finally saw the most recent episode. Really losing my enthusiasm. The political campaign thing has gotten ridiculous. The mayor is running commercials based on the teacher being "suspected" of murder, even though the cliched crusty police lieutenant doesn't even think there's enough evidence to justify a search warrant? Sure. No libel suit coming there.

Kind of liked the bit about the girl's dad discovering that he was no longer the kind of guy who could just take the teacher out and kill him. But now that's resolved and the mom is apparently going to stalk the teacher? Seriously?

The flying to Sonoma thing has gotten beyond absurd. Now, to build in a few more days, she's trying to call her fiance to see what plane he wants her to take. And he's pissed and won't answer, so she remains on the job. Here's an idea: Take any freaking plane, and find him and apologize. This is not going to be worked out with you still in Seattle, dumbass.

The FBI raid on the meat locker at the end just sets up more tiresome hurdles for the investigators to jump through.

    I am seriously disappointed.

This is one of those shows, like Treme, where I want to like it much more than I actually do. It's well-made and well-acted, but the storyline is either implausible or just doesn't go anywhere.

That said, I'm invested at this point. So I guess I'll suck it up for the next 6-7 weeks and just keep coming on here to bitch about its shortcomings.

The issue with this show and Treme (which I think is far superior) or Rubicon is that these other two shows have/had memorable performances by individuals actors.

I'm starting to really dig Treme. The setup episodes have been worth the payoff. You just had to be patient with it.

I agree that this was a weak effort from The Killing. It's got to be tremendously tough for any AMC show to grab hold because of the high bar set by Mad Men and Breaking Bad, though.

I really wish there was a way AMC could have rescued Terriers from FX's scrap heap. Seems to me it would have fit in more comfortably at AMC.

OK, that was a damn good episode. Especially the ending.

I'm watching out of some sort of duty but this series has some many bad plot threads that it's difficult to maintain interest.

Richmond is a goof who varies between being a holier-than thou crusader and a really weak bad ass. Totally unrealistic character.

The only thing that would keep me interested if it would stop raining.

I think last night really redeemed the show, and made some of my previous criticisms look premature. The twist on the teacher and the Muhammad guy was pretty neat.
I think the mayor was involved in the killing of Rosie Larson. The use of a staff car from the councilman's campaign has to be a setup.
They've even shut up about Sonoma for a while, thank God.
My only complaint from last night is that the cliched, harrumphing lieutenant character remains ridiculous. His only function seems to be to place obstacles in front of his own detectives.
I guess I have one more complaint - the investigation would seem to be back at square one, right?

Well, if not square one it's certainly been set back quite a few steps. I couldn't make out the women in the security camera footage at the end of the preview, but I thought it was Mitch's sister. I am sensing a whole new arc here going back to that quick and awkward moment at Rosie's wake when the sister said hello to one of the guests and got a cold brush-off and then was seen later hitting the booze hard.

One other observation. During Stan's violent beat down of Ahmed I swear one of those punches really connected. I always wondered during scenes like that how often that happens.
