Since I don't want to search for it in case it will give away spoilers, can someone tell us how Lori died in the comic book? I read that she was shot, which I guess is partially true.

As long as it doesn't give anything away in the series that is.

  2. That's what I thought... Well, not exactly. I didn't think Carol was dead. Not until Glen's part last night and digging three graves.

I'm not assuming she's dead since we saw her get past with T-Dog's help. But I think the characters very clearly made that assumption.

That would be my guess. To say more would go into the territory of which we may not speak on this thread.

Speaking the comics, farmerj, Lori's death was discussed on the other thread. I think it's fair to respect the wishes of those who don't want the books discussed here and keep it there.

I want to make sure I understand matters correctly: Lori’s body was eaten by a zombie, who Rick then shot and started to gut in the hope of retrieving his dead wife’s remains. Is that right?

I don’t know if it was necessarily that — whether he wanted to inflict further pain on the zombie that ate his wife or if he as, in fact, for some crazy reason trying to see some piece of her in the hopes of gaining something…Look, it’s a dark show, I don’t know what to tell you!

I know you like to say that ideas are generated by the writers’ room as a whole rather than giving credit to specific people. But I want to know who specifically thought up that scenario because I plan on forwarding their details to the police.

[Laughs] I think I’m going to lay the blame on Angela Kang, who wrote the episode.

By the end of the episode three graves had been dug and filled in at the prison. But there are no actual bodies in any of them, right? Lori and T-Dog were both eaten and they haven’t found any trace of Carol at all.

That’s correct. They’re markers — it’s a sentimental thing. There’s enough bodies in the world of the Walking Dead. You don’t have to actually put them in the ground.

I understand. It just occurs to me that this means they got the two prisoners to dig two big holes and then just fill them in again.

Are you finding plot holes now?

    No. Are you punning?

    Yes, I am.

That just seems to be some post-apocalyptic, Cool Hand Luke-style hazing to me.

I honestly think it was just a test to see what they could do. It was more of an initiation than a hazing, if there’s any kind of a difference. I think they had every intention of finding bodies and they just didn’t.

I doubt there were bodies in any of those graves. Carol - unknown; Lori - eaten; T-dog - Assume eaten as he was being attacked by (at least) 2 walkers and had his throat torn apart.

Speaking of which, if you didn't see The Talking Dead worth going online just to see the part where the director/special effects guy brought out the fake head used for that shot. Incredibly real looking.

Fantastic episode. Dark, disgusting and just wrong....with great plot advancement.

I won't speculate on anything..mainly because I am one of those "comic" readers...so I have a good idea...will add my thoughts on the other thread.

They showed T-Dog's remains last week as Rick and the group were walking through the prison. There wasn't much left of him, and because of that, I don't think they even bothered putting a bullet through his head.

But wouldn't that be the cruelest thing you can do to someone in that world?

They're completely chewed up but the brain is still intact. They can't move and someone just buries your undead head. At that point you're just hoping some dog comes and digs you up so you can have a chance at a meal.

I don't even remember seeing T-Dog's head last week.

Don't know if there was much left of him like that but I'm just saying is all.
