The governor has about a dozen heads in glass jars and combs his zombie daughter's hair, but THAT is what makes you think he's a little loopy?

I was thinking more along the level of violent loopy as opposed to just nutty loopy. :D

I think I failed to take into account that like 8 months had passed from Season 2 to Season 3. It makes sense.

  4. Wow.
    Intense episode.
Can NOT wait until next week!

    spoilers ....

When the Gov. was interrogating Maggie my blood pressure shot up. Literally.
I can't recall the last time I was that emotionally involved in an episode.

And Glenn is the fucking man.

Glenn is a BAMF. That scene was great.

And I'm with you on the Maggie-Governor stuff. That was extremely well done.

The interrogation scenes were on the level of the best from 24. I love that it all ends with Maggie breaking down. It's not weakness, at least not entirely. It's a decision. She has decided that Glenn is the most important thing in her life.

My favorite moment was brief: When Rick's group exited the car, there was a zombie staggering toward them. None of them even considered taking the time to kill her. In earlier seasons, the group was obsessed with taking out every zombie. The reason went beyond fear, too. They wanted to put these creatures out of their pain. Now, that's gone. Now, there's only moving forward. There's no time to worry about those long gone.

Also, Carl is my new favorite character, passing even Daryl, whom I worry we're about to see put in a terrible position.

That interrogation stuff was some of the best scenes in the show's short history. Just intense, gut-punching stuff.

Random Insane Hermit Guy was also darkly comedic.

Call me crazy, but I think Daryl has a better chance of selling out Merle than vice-versa. Daryl is going to stick with the group, even if he left Merle before.

If would be really nice to have Michonne have a normal sentence too. Just regular dialogue -- not super angry. Thanks.

I am thinking that comes sometime around Season 7 as the show displays true, patient character development.

Daryl's entire life is about confronting his big brother. He lived in his shadow every day until they were separated during the apocalypse. To willingly accept him back into his life is to admit that he has no identity, that the man he's become -- as a significant and vital member of the group -- is an illusion. That showdown is coming, and he will be literally fighting for his life in more ways than one.

Merle is a wild card, as evidenced by him throwing a zombie at Glenn. However, the Governor thinks Merle will side with his brother and Merle noted that 2 people have now told him that the group did come back for him on the rooftop but he was gone. Maybe he's softening just a tad. Either way, you know there's going to be a nice reunion between Merle and Daryl - it will probably be at the end of the next episode forcing everyone to wait until the start of the second half of the season to find out what happens.
