She gets full credit for Shane.

One sure way to get killed on this show is to either start sharing details about your life with the other characters or to get close to Carol.

    Spoiler Alert. . .

Poor Axle. Just when we started to like him, he gets a bullet in the eye.

You seriously are going to tell me that Shane dies if Lori isn't around at all? The entire Shane-Rick conflict was caused by that fucking harpy.

I don't know if I can watch this show if these flashbacks continue.

The death last night was startling - not in who died but just the moment it happened. Well done. The tension increased 10 fold (not that it needed it).

Also, thinking about reading the comics. Amazon has the first two compendiums for around $36. For anyone who has read the comics: 1. Is this a good price? 2. Will reading the comics now spoil the show?

There was a good article in the NYT today about shows offing cast members. The Walking Dead does it better than anyone, no "someone will die" teasers, they introduce a character - you almost think it will lead to something and whammo. Gone. Figured Oscar was the new T-Dog, but that didn't happen. You almost wonder why they introduce new characters and give them an arc at all in the first place.

    Seems like a good price...

No, the comics have a much different arc from the show by now. There are parts that you will see that tip the cap to the comic, but the outcomes and storylines are much different after season 1 of the show.

That's not a bad price considering that gets you all the way through issue 96. You'd only be about 10 issues behind where it is now.

As for what it spoils, they follow some same broad storylines, but all the details are different. It would spoil it some, but there's so much different in the show now that I still get surprised by a lot of it. Kirkman sometimes uses the show to do things how he wishes he had in the comic when he looks back on it now, but there are things that happen in the comic that could never happen on TV (probably). I consider them two different works now, pretty much.

What happened to the person in riot gear who commandeered the Zombie Trojan Horse van and started blasting at Michonne, et al?

I'm presuming he was picked up by the Governor, but unless I missed it, they never showed it.

I don't think they ever showed him or her getting killed or picked up.
