Sadly (or happily, if we're right about it being foreshadowing), I think they view Andrea as a strong woman and powerful leader.

By "they" you mean the people in Woodbury? I would agree with that. But I don't think the audience views Andrea as particularly strong. Carol is strong. Andrea thinks she is strong, but she's not built of the truly remarkable stuff.

    I mean the writers.

I think Woodbury's old guard and Rick's group are going to wipe each other out. There's going to be some amalagation of Tyrese (who will see the Governor's madness at some point) and the survivors.

When Daryl dies, the show dies. (Though Daryl probably won't make it to the very end, when Carl has to take out Rick's brain as I'm convinced will happen.)

I don't know if I agree with that. I think the writers surround Andrea with strong women to show just how weak she actually is.

Michonne. Carol. And I mention Carol because she was weak in the beginning of the series, but she is the one who told Andrea how to kill the Governor two episodes ago. And Andrea couldn't go through with it. Maybe in the beginning I thought Andrea was strong, and they wrote her that way, but I don't know if I believe that at this point...

That, I agree with. I wonder why? Never really thought about it until you posted it.

He's by far the best character, and I don't think it's a coincidence that they wrote this awesome, complex, bad-ass character into the show as the most clear-cut divide between the show and the comics.

Speaking of which, I'm really, really eager to see how Merle turns out -- if he survives the impending shitstorm, that is. The bible scene in the past episode showed some veiled complexity to him. I honestly want him to live, but I can't see him and Daryl coexisting for long, or the rest of the group, for that matter.

Just as long as they wipe out the dopey song-singing daughter (basically her only contribution to the series besides trying to off herself at the farm), I'm cool.

I'm actually going to be quite sad when Carol dies. She used to annoy the shit out of me, but I've come to respect that little old waif. I hope Daryl sticks it in before she leaves us.

Her vaginal walls are made of stale bourbon, shotgun shells, sopping handkerchiefs and domestic abuse.
