    Goodbye, Merle.

On another note, I didn't even realize that Ben (the son of the white guy in Tyreese's group) was one of the people Merle took out until I saw it on the Talking Dead's in memoriam segment. For a death that's going to have some repercussions, that was woefully underplayed.

The first half or so of that episode pissed me off. The events were set in motion by Rick being a weinie and actually considering (or so we were to believe) sacrificing Michone to the Governor. He had to know there was a strong chance the Governor very likely was playing him, and that he would be weakening his own group by turning over one of its best warriors.

Seeing facets of Merle was great but the situation need to get there was real clumsy.

Did not realize that, either. Since Ben was shot in the neck, I'd have figured he would've died and been a zombie long before Merle broke for lunch.

Watched the talking dead for the first time, I guess it's good to know that most of the zombie deaths are done digitally.

The fire pit from a week or so ago was pretty gruesome. Didn't realize how low Team Rick is in numbers. Reason enough not to part with Michone.

My wife, son and I were talking about something earlier. Seems with the main group, any time anyone has a deep conversation with Carol, they get killed. I know it happened twice this season, with Merle and Axel. Not sure who else it happened with. I need to go back and see if there's more to the pattern.

Batman, I'm not sure Ben got hit in the neck. Looked like it hit his shoulder and he just bled out.

It happened with Lori. But Daryl has had many.

That was a good episode. I didn't like the Ghost Lori part, but whatever. It was kept to a minimum. I didn't like that Rick had changed his mind again to start the episode, nor that he changed it again after that. But the scenes with Merle and Michone alone were very good. And the final scene was as resonant as anything the show has done, probably because Daryl is such a great character and you could feel the emotions spilling out of him.

The stuff with Merle and Michonne was excellent. When it first happened, I thought Merle had maybe turned on the group and was going back to be a lackey under the Governor in Woodbury. But that was an excellent arc.

Only part of it I had a hard time with was there's no way, in my way of seeing it, that Michonne would've A) went with Merle alone and B) trusted him enough to turn her back on him after what happened between them previously.

Other than that, damn good episode.
