Seems like it's building toward that.

Naw - Zombie Sophia was the best. How many deaths can you attribute to her for getting lost? And for what? So she could be turned into a zombie and killed in front of everyone? Pretty much dispelled all hope for the group that anyone was going to be living happily ever after...tomorrow? maybe? Next week? perhaps? Reaching retirement? No way. They all knew how the story ends for all of them at that point.

Totally worthless character. Use her and her guitar as a human shield for the walkers/Woodbury invasion.

I wasn't as enamored with the episode of some of you were. The writers take weird shortcuts and it makes the show so scattershot.

I disagree, don't you think a wedding episode is in line, followed by maybe finding some kids who lost their parents so they can adopt them?
    The ideas could be endless.

    I smell spinoff.

9 by my count: Rick, Carl, Maggie, Glenn, Hershel, Beth, Carol, Michonne, Darryl.

My guess is they leave the prison, go free Andrea, but The Gov. shows up and the battle commences in Woodbury. They think they kill The Gov., but he escapes (maybe to show back up at the mid-season cliffhanger episode next season?) and 1 or 2 (out of Hershel, Carol, Glenn and Maggie) members of the prison gang die, the rest, they end up scattering (Rick/Carl go one way in the confusion, Andrea/Michonne another way, etc.) and as we go to black and credits.

  6. They don't know Andrea is being held captive.

    Here's the story
    of a gal named Maggie
who was living with three very lovely sibs
All of them got ... eaten by some zombies,
now the youngest one's a turd

Here's the story, of a man named Gle-en,
who was busy with problems of his own,
He was with a group trapped down in Atlanta,
    they were on their own

Till the one day when the lady met the Oriental,
and they knew then it was much more than a hunch,
that this group would end up fighting for survival
that's the way they all became the Zombie Bunch

    The Zombie Bunch
    The Zombie Bunch
    That's the waaa-aay we be-came the Zom-bie Bunch

Darryl is not untouchable. I'm not even sure Carl is.

Long-term, they aren't. Right this moment, fuggedaboutit. Losing Darryl right now would be a ratings killer. And while many would applaud Carl getting booted, I don't see it fitting the story right now.

    Potential spoiler ...

I know in the comics, Carl doesn't make it through this upcoming fight unscathed. I can't see him dying, though. I've always thought of this whole saga as his story, growing up in the zombie apocalypse. I can see a day when we get the final episode and the last scene is him as an adult or old man telling his children or grandchildren this horrifying tale.

Versatile's The Walking Dead character safety power rankings:

    1. Rick: He's in it until the end.
    2. Little Ass-Kicker: She's an ass-kicker and will provide important conflict for future seasons.
    3. Carl: He's probably in it until the end.
    4. Tyreese: There's no way they're killing him after all that.
    5. Daryl: This show loves grieving too much to kill him after the last episode.
    6. Beth: As I've said, they have built toward future plots with her. She'll survive to see them out.
    7. Michonne: She's a survivor, and I am sure they will open her up more next season before killing her.
    8. Andrea: God, I want her to go. But the writers think she's a strong woman. Fuck them for that.
    9. Glenn: They still have a lot of awful things to put him through.
    10. Milton: Maybe I am crazy, but I really think they will find a use for him.
    11. The Governor: I'd say this is the 50-50 point.
    12. Maggie: I really, really want her to live. But I think she's at risk.
    13. Carol: She's really worn down her use, and her death would draw out the worst in Daryl.
    14. Hershel: Either he or Maggie will die. And he's the one who can't walk.
    15. Sasha: She has a lot of potential, but we already have one black woman.
    16. Allen: Keeping him around would be ridiculous.
    17. Martinez: He will die.

I am guessing at least one or two no-name characters from Woodbury join our group for next season, when they will then be killed.
