I'm of the same feeling. Was expecting more of a cliffhanger moment, that WTF scene that makes you miss the show until October.

Quite honestly, I hated Carl in Seasons 1 and 2 but he has been one of (if not) the best character this season. Watching this kid grow from a timid little boy to a cold-blooded killer has been one of the best things this show has done this year. And his speech about WHY he killed the kid, in my opinion, perfectly summed up exactly WHY he should have killed that kid.
Might be one of the best little scenes of the whole year and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they develop him from here on out.

I was kind of glad they didn't do that. I hate when shows go for the cheap "OMG" moment at the end of a season and then take seven months off. If it feels authentic and adds to the development of the future storytelling (I.E. The end of the first season of 24), I'm OK with it but I much prefer a clean-cut from season to season.
And with this show, waiting seven months would have been torture. I love what they've done with regard to their season finales, though I would have preferred if this one ended with a better answer to the question of where the Governor went. Guess we'll get that next year.

I don't mind the episode as the finale either, but I kept expecting an OMG moment at the end just to throw us a curveball or something.

The stuff with Andrea and Milton was fantastic, from Milton telling Andrea she needed to hurry up to the slow turn of Milton. Those scenes were great.

The Governor going nuts on his group was epically awesome. Loved it. I like this ending better than them letting us think he had died when they invaded the prison, a theory that had been tossed about quite a bit on the web and on here. I was kind of surprised they didn't go to back to Woodbury so he could check to see what had happened to Andrea, and I was also surprised Rick's group didn't just take over Woodbury as their own. They just took in about 15 new people.

What I like the most about Andrea's death is that this entire season has been about her journey to Woodbury and her desire to see the good that could still exist in this land ... and now we know that it was all for nothing.
I think rewatching this season and watching Andrea's choices (Should I stay? Should I go? Should I kill Phillip? Should I bring Philip and Rick together?) is going to be interesting knowing that her choices led to her death.
Can't wait to let this episode and season digest a bit.

So are The Governor, Martinez and the other guy just on the most awkward road trip ever?
Kept waiting for a scene to resolve something with them, either coming back to an empty Woodbury at the end or them arriving at another town, but no. Maybe they'll end up in Nebraska.

Quote from a person on Talking Dead: "Since Lori was pregnant when Rick saw her, does that mean she hooked up with Shane in the afterlife?"
    Ouch. :)

I guess they are more comfortable at the prison but I'm also surprised that Rick's group didn't take over Woodbury. You know that the Governor's "army" is depleted and it seems like Woodbury would be a better place to live, especially since the Governor just redecorated your place and you're bringing in a bunch of new residents.

That didn't seem like a finale that the last half of the season had been painstakingly building to. (Though I'm sure Chris on The Talking Dead jacked off over it).

And Kirkman, as he always does, lied about the carnage, bragging about "27 people will die." I told my wife they'd all be anonymous Woodberrians and one or 2 from Rick's group. What we got was even under my low expectations.

    (Spoiler, just in case)

My wife and I argued over whether Carl was justified or not. I say he was. I didn't trust the look and slow action of the young man. Right off I said good for Carl, and I've not been a Carl "Right Out of The Omen" Grimes. Guy should've dropped his weapon. Herschel's wrong.

And Kirkman lies when he says they don't listen to fan complaints. Who got ditched this season? Who did the majority of fans hate and want to see dead? Bingo! Both gone. It doesn't match the comics, which is ok, but this has got to be changes made to please the masses.

    This made me laugh.

And Carl made the episode. His little speech had me rolling.

I also thought it would have been much cooler if Rick and the gang had opened the chamber door and found both Andrea and Milton staggering around. THAT would have been fun. I'm also unsure why the prison group brought the Woodbury residents to the prison. I guess they figured they couldn't fight off the Governor on his home turf? I don't know. I would have thought everyone (the prison crew included) would much prefer the Woodbury digs.

And maybe the "27 people" thing included zombies?

The governor gunned down over 20, Carl shot the kid, Milton and Andrea ... 27 sounds about right.

It was a meh... Andrea died and Milton's slow turn was nicely executed. But the ending made no sense. Why not take over Woodbury? It's a sight nicer than the prison and probably more defensible too.

I just wish the Governor would've met his demise. I guess we'll have to wait seven months to see that and see what trouble he stirs up. Maybe he's more dangerous roaming free like a lone wolf, picking off supply runs.
