Not sure I agree with it all, but it needed to be said.

Can't understand how some people were saying the final episode or half-season was "awesome" or "mind-blowing". If so, your mind might be too easily blown.

It was OK and nothing more.

She impaled the guy with a sword and left him in the field with a bunch of walkers lurking. She killed him.

Not really. That was Lilly, who came in after everyone left and shot him in the head.

Neither spots were from the comic...but they were well done.

I just finished the episode and Holy Wah! (to use a phrase from back home)
I didn't have much emotion about the show, but the aftershow was brutal. Lauren Cohan (Maggie) couldn't stop crying over the loss of her "mentor" Scott Wilson (Hershel) on the show and the first 15-20 minutes was a sob fest. One of the better Talking Dead's they have had.

If you aren't watching the aftershow, you are doing your self a disservice as a fan of the show. They do some great stuff on there.

You are correct that Lilly pulled the trigger. But, in my opinion, she just putting the icing on the cake. I wasn't really worried about the Governor making it out of there alive.

I agree that it was one of the better episodes of Talking Dead. I really wasn't planning to watch it at all, but I got sucked in.

It definitely changes how I view certain things in the show. Kirkman's explanation of killing the Governor, for example. The intent was to have three characters take part in it because he thought it would be more satisfying than how it was done in the source that I'm not going to bother not to name. I have only read a few issues of the comic, not including the death of the Governor, but Kirkman explained that he had Lilly do it on her own because he somehow felt the villains shouldn't have a satisfying death for the readers, but now he has changed his mind.

Agreed. Their genuine emotion came through the screen.

Talking Dead is always a bit jarring because, after getting used to the actors' fake southern accents (which aren't too bad), it's odd hearing how many of them are British. I knew Morrissey was a Limey from his Doctor Who guest appearance, and remember reading that Andrew Lincoln was. Had no idea Lauren Cohen was a Brit until last night.

This half-season was good TV, but not the best The Walking Dead has had to offer. A lot of people are holding it to an impossible standard. Really, I think this season so far was about re-setting the storyline to flow more with the comic, getting back to where they should've ended last season. They were able to do that pretty well, even though in the long run -- and in the short run by many -- these are going to be seen as filler episodes, simply a means to an overdue end. And they were. But they were good filler episodes for the most part.

She's an American-born Brit who moved there when she was young, IIRC.

But that accent ... holy cow.

She used her natural accent years ago when she did a season-long guest stint on "Supernatural," so it's way odd for me to hear her speak with a Southern accent.
