It seems unnecessary to have an entire episode illustrate a fairly obvious point. I guess overall I have a problem with the episodes that don't do much to push the plot along, the "character building" episodes or "lesson learned" episodes, which it feels like the last two have been. At least at the end of this most recent one, there was a direction established with Terminus. That was the most interesting part of the episode to me, not the fact that these character fare better together than apart.

As someone who knows nothing of the comics (and a native of Atlanta), I'm interested to see where that takes the characters. It looks like the map to Terminus takes them right into the heart of the city, which they haven't been to since the first season. Plus, Terminus was the original name for the city of Atlanta.

I agree with you to a degree. I don't like episodes that don't move the story forward. This show or any other.
I hate the backwards construction of much of current TV: Develop characters and then come with situations for the to navigate.
Good writing should be: Come up with a compelling story, then populate it with compelling characters reacting honestly.

These past two episodes were slow, but I think they did move the story. We have to address what is happening now that the characters are scattered in the aftermath of the prison battle.
Could be addressed in more compelling fashion, but the story is moving.

Hey, somebody had to graduate last in his class at Zombie School.

The pointless, faux outrage is funnier than the kids falling.

The scene in which you're referring to, that chick is a frigging 10 in my book. GOOD LAWD!

Wrong thread. Intended for thread about kids falling on the ice.

I think they've had access to some sort of shower. They did on the farm, and didn't that kid die while taking a shower at the beginning of the season? Not sure what they are doing about those clothes though.

I'm more curious about the group's access to items like toilet paper, tampons and toothbrushes. And how the heck did those kids smuggle a bottle full of milk out of the prison with all of that chaos going on?

It's not milk, it's formula. And anyone with a baby always has a diaper bag packed with bottled water and powered formula or premixed formula.
And they have shown them raided stores...you know, where all those supplies are found.

They showed Maggie looking for a pregnancy test kit for Lori in Season 3, so it's not a stretch to realize where they've picked up some of those things.

The issue of supplies is one that sometimes confuses me, especially regarding the amount of time passed. Now, I realize that just because the show has been on for four seasons doesn't mean four years have passed in the story. But exactly how much time has passed? At some point, those grocery store runs won't matter for perishible items like canned goods. Toiletries and other stuff? Yeah, a package of TP and a shelf of toothbrushes can sit for years and be fine. I'm thinking it's only been a year since Rick was shot, but somebody help me on this.

Per several online sites, it's been about a year and a half. This link details the days by episode - http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Television_Show_Timeline

So Season 1 lasted until about 65 days after the outbreak, Season 2 only lasted about 18 days of real time, then there was a significant jump between Season 2 and Season 3 to further develop Lori's pregnancy. Season 3 began about 300 days into the apocalypse and lasted about two weeks of real time.

Season 4 (the current season) had another time jump in the offseason to take us to about 500 days since it all began. Only a few days have passed this season (about one per episode, give or take).

At least, that's if that site I linked to is to believed.

That's a cool (and well over-done, but what do you expect from a Walking Dead wiki site) list.
