In that moment? Yes. In the DAYS that followed the attack? No way.
Especially not where there appears to be some sort of community of vacant houses close enough to the prison that a beat up Rick and a shell-shocked Michonne can make it there fairly easily.
I just imagine a scenario in this world in which the prison's little body of rulers (or whatever Herschell and the gang were calling themselves during their meetings) didn't go over the lay of the land and say "Hey, this is a zombie apocalypse and anything can happen so if we get split up and can't come back here, meet at this house and wait for a couple of days before heading out for good."
The reason I can't buy this is because when the gang was looking for Sophia, they set a meeting point at a random car and went back every day to see if she was there. There's no reason over the course of the week following the Governor's attack they couldn't have doubled back to the backup meeting spot.
    That's just poor writing.

I'm still not buying that they forgot the plan in the chaos of the attack.

Maybe if they put one group of survivors at the rallying point and they were there arguing about: where is everybody, why didn't they follow the plan, they must all be dead we have to move on.

Even then, logic would dictate SOMEONE at the safe house would have waited a couple of days before moving on and, in theory, everyone would have made that their first stop. Even if the first people to arrive would have decided to leave, they would have left a note on the door or something saying as much. It's what Rick did at the car on the highway and that plan was thrown together in, what, six minutes? They had MONTHS to plan out an evacuation.
And even if they thought the governor was gone for good, this is still a zombie apocalypse. No way they shouldn't have had a fall-back plan. Especially not after they almost got separated after the barn debacle.

This half-season has been bad all around. I'm considering giving the show up, but they usually end strong.

"I am shocked -- shocked! -- that there's a plot hole the size of Grimace's vagina in The Walking Dead!

That's the exact point I was making.

I would buy the chaos theory if there was at least one of these small groups of survivors at a rallying point waiting and agonizing over what to do when the others don't show up.

I don't buy the chaos theory and I don't buy the zombie-plan-but-no-tank plan theory espoused on the talk show.

They would have had an emergency plan that included contingencies for getting split up.

This entire scenario of everyone winging it makes no sense.

I'm with you. I've considered bailing, but I've put nearly four seasons into it. It's not like The Killing where I was so pissed off at the end of season one I didn't bother watching the next year.

I'm finishing out the season because I'm already so far in.
But if I were deciding today, I wouldn't continue watching next year.
I think I'm done with the show after this season unless it gets interesting.

I'm the same as you. Stopped watching the Killing, but I don't think I can stop watching TWD because of all the time invested in the show over the years. And besides, I still enjoy the show. I can't say the same for the Killing.

I stuck with 'The Following' last year because it started well.
By the time it ended, I absolutely hated it but I'd come so far with it.
I didn't pick it up again this year.

I stuck with 'Agents of SHIELD' for a long time this year but bailed on it when they kept airing reruns.

I wanted to like 'Sleepy Hollow,' but I bailed out after four or five episodes.

The show has become something I have on when I'm doing something else (chores, working on the computer, etc.) just to see if there is any plot development. It's odd that they still use the spooky music during zombie attacks, because they just aren't suspenseful anymore.

I haven't gotten over losing both Michael Rooker and Scott Wilson, personal favorites who played two of the most interesting characters, in my opinion.
