I could have done without the flashbacks, too. But it was still a solid episode. I admire Rick's bravado at the end. But they're locked up in a train car without their weapons. The bad guys have the edge to say the least.

I imagine that bag of weapons Rick put away proves mighty important next season. My guess is either one of them sneaks out of the train car and goes to get it or, more likely, Tyreese somehow gets to the car at night (Maybe he was watching outside the gates?) and gets the guns to give to them during a raid.
I imagine we lose one of the train car passengers as there's always some sort of cost in these situations but my guess is the train car crew will be running Terminus before we get to the midseason finale.

A few points of interest so far:
    - Scott Wilson (Hershel) came back to shoot the final episode, it was not shot in advance.
    - He was not asked to come back until nearly a month AFTER the mid-season cliffhanger...yet he luckily had not shaved or cut his ponytail off.
    - The flashbacks were meant to show how Rick became a farmer and how he had to reconnect with Carl. (and yes, I think it may have not been needed)
    - The way and reason Rick killed in the show was taken straight from the source material (issue 57...and it freaked my wife out)
    - The blood and meat in Andrew Lincoln's mouth was raw chicken (barf)
    - Andrew Lincoln calls the people at Terminus - "termites" LOL

Heard those on Talking Dead as well. "Termites" was already all over Facebook last night.

I get the point of the flashbacks. I still thought they were more distracting than anything.

Also noticed that Lincoln didn't realize the scene with Joe was taken from the source material, either. I did think it was interesting that when they shot the episode killing off Herschel, they had not yet decided whether the flashbacks would be in the season finale. That is why they didn't ask him to keep his beard and ponytail until a month later.

When they're being chased by gunfire from the roofs through Terminus, Rick runs past fenced-in pen that has in it what looked to me to be raw meat or flesh or even the spines of animals (people?). The camera moves fast, so I'm not sure of this, but that was my guess in real time (and one quick replay before resuming live).

I did end up wondering how the arrival at Terminus might have played out if Rick hadn't jumped the guy with the watch. Instead, he could have filed that and kept sleuthing. Or maybe the "plates" were the point of no return, either because they might dope/poison his little group or because of something else going on with the bar-b-q. Guess I just wanted Rick to ask one of the "termites" how in the hell their open-door policy possibly works in a world filled with marauders such as Joe's band of merry men. What acceptable answer/justification could there be?

Also interesting how the shooters "guided" them to the box car. The episode had a strong Holocaust vibe between the boxcar, the hall of remembrance and "borrowed" personal items.

I think a number of things could happen in the next season. Obviously, some of the group will get out. Then there's the wildcard with Tyrese/Carol or even Beth and whomever she is with. The bag of buried weapons gives them an nice option should they get free. But there are also some other things. Remember the crazy black guy from a few seasons ago? I wonder if he will ever re-appear?

Then there's always the option of a pack of walkers. It is easy to think Rick and Crew get out, but what if Terminus begins to get "overrun" by zombies? That's a very likely scenario that could present an a diversion. Lastly, what if another group comes along and engages the Termites in a gun fight? That's another option for a diversion.

By the crazy guy, do you mean Morgan, who helped Rick way back in the pilot?

I'm guessing help from Carol and Tyreese is far more likely. Of course, they have Judith with them, which is a problem and also brings up a possible nasty outcome.

Yes. And I agree. Carol could me an interesting wild card though. She's so remorseful for what has happened maybe she goes in guns blazing.

I'm on the horns of an enema with this show.

These last three episodes were interesting, although I though the finale could've been better.
But the last three episodes were interesting.

However, do they make up for so many boring episodes this seasons?
Should I come back for the next season?

    I just don't know.

Because a bunch of my friends are in the camp that this season has sucked. I keep asking them why they keep watching, but they don't have an answer.

If you're so frustrated with a show, what's the point of watching it anymore?
