I wasn't really listening when they said who it was, but caught them saying they flew him or someone else in just for this episode.

I only vaguely remember the character. I also didn't recognize the actor, Robin Lord Taylor, until the brought him up on Talking Dead. He currently plays Oswald Cobblepot (the future Penguin) on Gotham.

I just went back and watched the post-scenes of scene. Wow, looking forward to what they do with that character. Thought we'd seen the last of him.

That's what ended up doing and I just saw the scene. Very cool to see that character back. I love the actor and I've wanted him to become a bigger part of the story since Season 1.

I thought that was Cobblepot, but wasn't positive. I totally forgot his role from Season 4 of TWD.

Completely off topic, but Gotham is incredibly well cast. Just about every actor seems like they were made to play their character, Cobblepot and Catwoman, in particular.

It sure was nice to see Lennie James show up at the end. That caught me by surprise. It would be nice if his character would be in there more often. Perhaps he will now after that dramatic appearance. James was great in Jericho.

I didn't recognize him at all. I was wondering why he got a little more screen time than the others, but figured it was just because he was the first to be dispatched and the shock value would be the strongest with the first.

That said, and perhaps I'm alone in this, I never believed for a second they would get to one of the important characters. The scene certainly worked. It drove home the point of just little the residents of Terminus cared about murdering other human beings. But even as the guy with the bat started on his back swing, I never considered for even a second that Glenn, Daryl or Rick was going to die.

Regarding Taylor (Cobblepot), I didn't recognize him at all. I agree with you regarding the casting of Gotham and I think they have done a good job capturing the spirit of the city, but I have been underwhelmed with the writing. The Flash is better.

There was a split second where I thought Glenn was going to get killed, but then I realized how much backlash that would create amongst fans. The scene was executed incredibly well, and I love how they broke it down on Talking Dead.

I thought that, too, considering his fate in the comics, but then realized they weren't likely to have such a major character meet his end at the hands of a couple of goons, or in that spot. If and when Glenn goes, it'll be a major moment, as it should be.

Uh oh. Somebody's going to cry about the mention of the source material now.

Meh. That happened about two years ago. I think it's pretty well-known by now.

Didn't recognize the kid. Seemed like a waste of show dollars to bring him in for that, especially since hardly anyone, if anybody other than his mom, made the earlier connection. (On the Talking Dead, when mentioned, the audience all like gasped, like, THAT's who that was.)

Kudos for Morgan making his cameo though. Look forward to him being involved somehow.

All in all, a really excellent episode and premiere.

Oh, I don't really care, but I do try to keep that stuff to the other thread just to be nice. That was one reason I dug it up.
