    Now that was good.

They finally killed some walkers, and ended the Sophia storyline.

Not a regular, just a drive-by guy, but I was holding my breath for the last 10 minutes, I must admit.

The last 10 minutes were excellent.

If that was the payoff for that dragging-ass storyline ... it was completely, totally worth it.

Anyone ever watch Talking Dead? They do this in memoriam thing each show. Tonight's was "in memory of sophia ... at least they finally found her."

    I lol'd.

At least Rick finally showed more sack than Shane. And it was a nice bookend to the very first episode, at the very, very beginning before the flashback to Rick in the hospital, when Rick shot that little girl zombie.

That last scene was excellent. Just the look one everyone's face when Sophia came out of the barn. Can't wait till the season picks up again.

For all the shit I take from some friends, including people who have read the graphic novels, for watching this show as it drags on slower than a walker with a broken leg ...

    Tonight, I won.

Such a total holy shit moment. With the way you can generally find things out ahead of time (and the way I'm usually not strong enough to avoid reading spoilers), that's the first one of those I've had from a scripted show in a long time.

I'm with all of you. The payoff in last night's episode was fantastic. I thought the entire hour was damn fine. Actually, it was the best thus far in the young series. Shane going full heel mode was freakin awesome. I had no idea Sophia would be in there until the final faceless growls started and they brought the camera inside the barn and lowered it to a level that would represent how a child would see the world. The acting was all so well done, especially Herschel's completely crushed expression. So subtle, yet powerful.

For some reason I wasn't surprised that Sophia was in the barn. The whole time they were shooting I was thinking that's how the show would end - with her coming out of the barn.

Given that the show was going on break they needed to wrap that loose end up and that was the easiest way to do it.

But holy shit, that whole scene was awesome.
