I don't think it was about the albums. It was a test. If the people of the Hilltop were decent, they would make a deal. If they weren't, they could steal everything. I don't think the actual items they asked for were really important at all.

  2. Reading the last few posts here has convinced me not to return to the show.

Is it possible Negan's going to have some kind of face turn? Like he can convince the garbage lady that his guy's massacre was rogue? And then they all end up on the same side as Rick?

I haven't read the source material and I think this would be a big departure but maybe it keeps an entertaining guy on the TV show? Or is this a nonsense idea?

There's the theory that Negan is already a face and that Rick is the heel. But that whole bat to the brains thing he did a couple of seasons ago pretty much firmly plants him as the villain. It's possible he could be making a turn here, but who knows with this show? It's long departed from the comic, so it's pretty much its own thing now.

    two thoughts:

—they are at least edging Negan toward sympathetic by having him be less bloodthirsty than Simon.
—when I saw the woman in the van I thought "Sally Jessy Raphael." But HRC is an interesting comp.

Aside from AMC’s attempt to con me into watching its new show, I enjoyed last night’s episode. (Aside from the idiocy of that damn kid). Action-packed hour and it really hammered home the point that there really are no flawless leaders in this new world.

Wondering how Tara’s story plays out. Another fake-out in the works?

I agree. It wasn't a bad episode at all. A little silly at times (but I've pretty much given up on the show trying to make sense, after all it is about zombies). But I thought it was a pretty solid episode. Biological warfare is very interesting and throws a big wrinkle into everything.

I think Tara is fine. I think the reason Dwight jumped in front of Negan 2.0 and shot her is because he knew his arrows weren't dipped in zombie guts and that she'd survive. I don't think we lost any major characters, besides Tobin I guess.

I wish we would have gotten just a little Negan to know what is happening there. But i guess we'll have Negan-centric episode next week as the Hilltop pulls the pieces back together.

This was my favorite episode in a long while, although the scene with Rick tearing the boards off the window was painful. The whole episode had a sense of creeping dread, like you could see bad things coming just over the horizon. I think it helped that I got stoned before watching, the first time I've smoked weed in a good six months.

I liked The Terror after TWD, too, but you can kind of see how it's going to get silly in short order.

The writers just need to cut their losses with Negan. He's a character most viewers have grown to hate and any time/effort spent on redeeming him is probably just a sinkhole.

I don't know. Are we watching the behind-the-scene internal politics playing out on screen? Has someone big invested a lot in his character and gosh darn it, he's not going away! No really, he's great!

This was the first time in a while that I felt a sense of tension when it came to the walkers. I liked Maggie's dread through this thing.

I'll forgive the kid's mistake in that a kid is supposed to be rash and go off half cocked. My problem was he's demanding to know who killed his brother. How are those saviors supposed to know who his brother was?

So the kid knew he was being lied to when told that Gavin killed his brother? How'd he know that?

People sure sleep freaking soundly at the Hilltop. Hard to believe EVERYBODY would sleep at the same time, on the heels of an attack like that.

As for the biological warfare, how come Rick could cut off Hershel's leg with an ax or hatchet he'd used to kill countless walkers and have Hershel stick around otherwise healthy till the Governor got him?

That's the worst part of Negan's new plan. It makes no sense at all. Sure, they've been setting it up since Gabriel got sick, but people have been exposed to walker blood and guts constantly all through the series.

Also, in the episode, somebody mentioned that they weren't bitten, but they turned. Doesn't everybody know by now that dead people turn whether they were bitten or not?
