What a fantastic episode. Now, I knew that with this being the midseason finale that Shane was going to open the barn and kill the walkers and I had a feeling midway through the shooting scene that Sophia was going to come out as part of that group but, damn, what an epic final scene. Right up there with the best of Season 1.

Can't wait to see where this goes now.

When Hershel said that Otis usually took the walkers into the barn, I started to think maybe Sofia was in there. But I could not remember if Otis knew about the search for the little girl, or if he and Shane took off before wind of that subplot made it to him. I was pretty sure the shooting took precedent and Otis never heard of the girl missing -- and he certainly never had a chance to tell everyone about her.

Problem with that possible plot is that the pictures around the house and the knowledge of the area was too much to prove that it actually is their place.

If you haven't already, go to amc's website and watch those Webisodes. There's six of them. Range in time from 2:20 to 5 minutes or so long.

    Just saw them.

    Awesome.

They said on the Talking Dead last night that Otis was the one who brought Sophia to the barn, but it was before the group arrived on the farm -- so Herschel's gang didn't know who it was they were searching for.

One of the producers last night said they were thinking of turning that whole thing into a webisode in the future.

I think Shane's aggressive behavior has split the group whether it's obvious or not. If there was a line drawn in the dirt, Rick or Shane, pick your side, I think it could go half and half.

Agree. I could see a vote of some kind, where Carl's vote doesn't count. Andrea, T-Dog and Daryl vote for Shane; Lori, Dale and Glenn pick Rick. The swing vote will be Carol, who owes a lot to people on both sides -- but will ultimately select Shane. Just an opinion.

Shane: Andrea, T-Dog, Daryl and Carol (begrudgingly)

Rick: Lori and Carl, Dale, Glenn

Aside from maybe the premiere, I'd say it was hands down the best episode of the series so far.

The cinematography leading up to Rick shooting Zombie Sophia/Sophie/Whatever Her Name Is was very, very well done.

I think Daryl picks Rick. He and Shane almost went at it over Sophia this episode. I think, though, that Carol would pick whatever side Daryl is on.

The director of the mid-season finale has done some "Breaking Bad" episodes, including the one where Hank gets ambushed. Great stuff.

I don't think Daryl would vote for Shane. They don't seem to mesh real well.
