Me too. You're almost there, Little Zombie. Keep chewing through the glass.

It is a weird show. I like it, though most of the characters annoy me. I guess that's a result of the tension of their circumstances.

Contrast that with The Wire, and I like most of the characters in that show -- stone-cold killers, drug dealers, lazy cops, crooked politicians and all.

Ironically, about the only ones who had no redeeming value at all were the Pulitzer-prize winning reporter and editors.

    Nice.

And in case you were wondering about the scene I was referring to:

I suppose it's NSFW but only for gore.

Hey, how about a spoiler alert next time for those of us who don't read the comic and don't want to know what might be upcoming. But thanks for potentially ruining part of the show for me now that I know who shot Shane in the comic. Geez.

It's not a spoiler. The TV series doesn't follow the comic. And if you've read anything about the show it's been written a thousand times

Well, some people try not to read too much about the show so things they won't know what *might* happen based off the comic. I realize it does not follow precisely, but there are obviously many similarities. I do not need to know who dies early, who doesn't, etc. I'm sure others feel the same way. I guess I need to stay out of this thread now because I thought people knew better. Silly me.

I have to agree. I think it would be best to avoid posting about major events from the comics. I also knew what happened to Shane in the comics, but avoided mentioning it for this reason.

This show is so frustrating. The potential is there given the genre, source material and atmosphere. But damnit, there's so much forced plot.

-Pregnant woman leaves safehouse, without telling anyone, under the cover of a darkening sky, in a zombie-infested world, to go after her husband, who said he'd be back soon and was only gone for like an hour
-Kid on roof, safe from zombies, jumps down to become unsafe from zombies.
-Rick and Hershel seriously debated saving the guy? You know one of the mooks who was just SHOOTING AT YOU AND TRYING TO KILL YOU?! A mercy bullet? Fuck that. How about a justice bullet? Or how about you let him twitch and become an easy eat for the Zs, who clearly would do that instead of going for them as they escape.
-Drunk Hershel becoming a dead-eye shooter
-Glen, with a shotgun, somehow drilling zombies some 50 yards away
-Said zombies never getting closer than 50 yards despite them debating saving said mook for at least a minute
-"Big Brother Carl!" "If it's a girl, can we name her Sophia?!" DERP!
-There's no indication that Shane planned on harming Rick until Lori said so

So many plots are manufactured rather than letting the characters actions speak. Show me to get me on board, then tell me.

    -Remember T-Dog?
-The whole "Shane killed Otis" thing is retarded. Aside from Shane simply being an asshole to Dale, there's zero indication of what Shane did, yet Dale magically comes up with it. And Lori now believes it. So what if Shane has acted strange since that night? (Has he actually acted any differently?!) Let's say he has. Well, he nearly got fucking chomped on. He's a little bothered.

    Sigh.

    All excellent points.

This is an entertaining show at times, but it's not particularly well acted. Or well written.

    NDub, consider:

-Pregnant woman leaves safehouse, without telling anyone, under the cover of a darkening sky, in a zombie-infested world, to go after her husband, who said he'd be back soon and was only gone for like an hour
    You're right. This was absurd.

-Kid on roof, safe from zombies, jumps down to become unsafe from zombies.
He was trying to get out of town with his friends.

I thought that was a stretch but not that much of a stretch. These are merciful people.

-Drunk Hershel becoming a dead-eye shooter
He said he can shoot, and he's never shot before. No reason not to believe this.

-Glen, with a shotgun, somehow drilling zombies some 50 yards away
It seemed they were closer than 50 yards, and he's had plenty of practice with guns.

-Said zombies never getting closer than 50 yards despite them debating saving said mook for at least a minute
The zombies weren't even in the line of sight when they began debating.

-"Big Brother Carl!" "If it's a girl, can we name her Sophia?!" DERP!
His character is really just absurd. They give him the worst lines.

-There's no indication that Shane planned on harming Rick until Lori said so
Right. Lori's a manipulative bitch. That's the point.

    -Remember T-Dog?
Hey, he gets his line or two every episode!

I don't know. He came back with a limp, never explained what happened that led to Otis' death, shaved his head and went on an angry streak. It seems theoretically possible that someone could have connected the dots, and Dale is clearly a conspiracy theorist.
