From the looks of next week's preview, Daryl is about to go all Sayid from LOST on that hostage.

The thing I don't get is the kid was clearly blindfolded the whole time, right?

Let's assume Herschel took the blindfold off for the surgery (A generous assumption). How would the kid have known who Herschel was? And if he knew who Herschel was, why wouldn't he have said so to Herschel? If nothing else, let's assume he did go to school with Magi. Why not bring it up then? Or at ANY point prior to being loaded up into the vehicle?

And if he knew Magi, even in a passing way, wouldn't it stand to reason that she would know him and speak up when they brought him into the camp?

And I agree with the poster above who noted he moved around pretty well for a guy who just suffered a gnarly leg injury and was treated with, at best, less than ideal medication/treatment. That stood out to me as a particularly bad plot leap.

Shane and Andrea need to be given food, ammo and a car with a full tank of gas and told to hit the road together.

I'd like that, but it's not gonna happen.

Her name is Beth, and her sister is Maggie (not Magi...a magi is one of the guys that gave presents to Jesus in the manger)

Yeah, I know it's not. I'm just throwing reality in out there for the show. But of course, if 99 percent of movies and TV shows did the smart thing by kicking the assholes to the curb when they should be, they'd all be about seven minutes long!

No, it's not going to happen because the show would suck even worse than it does now. Shane and Andrea, Shane moreso, seem to be the only ones who are thinking logically, not emotionally.

This show is very strange for me. I love zombie shows/movies and I really enjoyed the first season. But this season, I'm starting to hate damn near every character on the show, yet I still watch. Like the show (or at least the idea). Hate the characters. Especially Rick's awful wife. Damn shame her character didn't die in the car accident.

I see what you're getting at. Another plot hole.

You cannot assume Hershel took the blindfold off of him for the surgery. You can, however, assume the guy recognized Hershel while he was impaled on a fence post. You cannot assume he knew Hershel was taking him to the farm simply because Hershel could be living anywhere at this point. You can, however, assume that Maggie would recognize him while he was on the farm and before, during and after the leg surgery. Perhaps she was told to keep quiet about knowing him (although it would've been nice to show us that).

It would be a big plot hole if the guy was moving around just fine a day or two after the surgery at the farm. It would be even a bigger plot hole if we're a few weeks later (and assuming he's healed up somewhat) and not seeing how they handled him in that time (did they keep him blindfolded the whole time? did they lock in a small room? did they ask him questions about who he is, where he's from, etc.?)

The fact we're having this discussion just shows you how poor some of the writing is.

I know who she was by name and relation only. My larger point was that why should I give a shit about her? She's had zero lines the entire time on the farm and one scene where her half-dead dead momma tried to bite her. It's piss poor character development and they're trying to force me to care about her. I didn't and I don't. Cut your whole fucking arm off, bitch. It's one less stupid, annoying, pointless character I have to care about.

Interesting how it seems split on those who think Shane is acting rationally and others who think he's a dangerous menace.

I think we can all be smart enough to realize this wasn't the next day...Beth is out of shock and moving around, the kid was walking better...etc.
This isn't going to be a day-by-day show of their lives. I see nothing wrong with skipping a week or so of time to advance the story.
Randall even said that Maggie would have no idea who he is...basically, she was the pretty girl at school and he was just a schmuck that knew of her and she didn't know him. I don't see any plot hole there.
The Hershel connection is a bit of a reach, but if he was the town vet, then again, you can assume that he is known by townfolk and Hershel wouldn't know some random kid.

Wouldn't you expect the random kid to mention at some point during that week or so that he went to school with Maggie? He used it to save himself when Rick and Shane were going to dump him. Why wouldn't he have used it at the farm to avoid the entire situation?
