Only thing we didn't see was Shane killing the second cop.

And didn't Rick stand over the bodies looking for those scratches near the end of those scenes? Cause I remember Shane saying he didn't see any bites on them, and Rick said there had to be scratches on them. But there was a part when he was looking at the bodies that made me think he really wasn't sure if there were any scratches.

  2. I caught that too ...

    Foreshadowing?

I'm going to go all English Lit Professor here:

Rick looking at the two dead cops symbolized Rick looking at the death of his friendship with Shane.

I got that vibe, too, but it seemed as if he was looking for the scratches -- or some sign of a bite -- and never found it.

I took it more as leaving their old selves behind and becoming something new in this world. Rick appears to have gotten colder since shooting Sofia. He killed two living people rather than offer to help and he was ready to set the kid off into the world alone, likely to his death. I don't think he would have done that before, and we've clearly seen the change in Shane.

But really, either interpretation is valid, I think. I like the idea that it's their friendship dying.

The two dead zombie cops were symbolism for all mentioned above and probably foreshadowing. I think the whole scratch thing has something do with a bigger aspect of the virus, probably something to do with what Jenner whispered to Rick, which is a neat thing in itself. Only a few creative minds on the show and Andrew Lincoln know what that secret is; he's keeping it close to the vest - not even telling his wife - so as to stay in character or something like that. That's pretty cool.

But yeah, I wonder if Shane stabbing zombie cop #2, then cutting himself with the same knife maybe 15 minutes later could play into the story. If it doesn't, then hopefully we learn direct contact has to be the way to get infected (which is why during other kills our characters aren't infected despite blood splatter). Because I don't want it to be another plothole.

Actually, if he does become infected, then I would think that is a plot hole for the reason you just mentioned. How the heck did nobody else get infected from blood splatter while killing zombies?

It kind of makes sense not to get definitive answers on such things. Civilization is gone, so it's not like you have scientists experimenting and figuring this stuff out.

Will someone be fired for revealing this?

They should be, though I can't say I'm surprised.

  10. Not necessarily ... How did the whole Zombie apocalypse start? Prolly through an infection, black plague kind of thing... I don't think a plague would be a stretch. An obviously some people would be immune to it.

How the zombie stuff started has never been brought up, in either the comic book or the show. I think it's smart not to say how. It's more realistic to a sense since no one knows because the world has gone to hell and we know as much about it as the characters do.

    Plus, journalists are zombies.

Oh, we're talking about The Walking Dead. Wrong thread.
