Full moon. It was pretty bright out there.

Evil makes a good point that Shane led Rick through the forest for a couple of hours only to bring him to a field that is probably within a half-mile of the house.

I enjoy the show enough that I'm not nitpicking on a lot of this stuff, though I recognize that some of it is pretty sloppy.

It was definitely curious why Shane led Rick right back to the fringe of the farm. If you're going to execute someone, or try to blame the prisoner guy, then do it far from the property.

And, no, Carl didn't see anything through those binoculars.

It was made a HUGE point by Rick to tell everyone to get into the house and lock it down just moments after Shane came out of the woods and said he was jumped. Carl should have been under the watchful eye of the adults in that house. There's no reason he should have gotten out.

Again, if the zombie apocalypse isn't bad enough, perhaps the only other child running away and turning zombie (Sophia) or another person getting attacked a few hundred yards from the house, are grounds to PROTECT AND WATCH YOUR CHILD AT ALL COSTS.

From the NY Daily News interview with Kirkman.

    Cool.

Got any evidence? It makes sense. They wouldn't board up the top windows or anything. Additionally, Carl is a shifty kid, and Lori is a terrible mother. Even so, she noticed him gone soon after.

  5. Not if you are T-Dog.

They should go old-school Star Trek and have Rick lead a group in Red shirts on a mission to confront the zombies.

I'm guessing Herschel is toast and either Glen or Maggie.

I'd bet Glen and Maggie stay alive and give us a Season 3 of ups and downs. They're about the only thing close to a romantic relationship the audience likes (i.e. not Lori and Rick, Lori and Shane or Andrea and Shane).

But yeah, T-Dogg ... He gone!

You can put it on the board. Yes!

I didn't realize Dale lasted a lot longer in the comics than he did on the show. I actually like the idea of him outlasting Shane, though I do see Kirkman's point about what Dale's death does to Carl.

They showed him scanning the pasture for any signs of anything. And there wasn't anything.

I'd guess Hershel's family, aside from Maggie, is pretty much wiped out. Probably him, too. He's an old man. The world isn't a place for the weak.

For the sake of story, I hope stupid Carol and Token-Dog are taken out.

On the after show, the theory was put out there that Shane wanted Rick to kill him - baiting him to shoot him by saying he's a better parent, etc. Perhaps even Shane knew what he's become and found his way out. Interesting theory at least (and he could have shot Rick at any time).

We could guess all day, but my thought while watching it was that Shane was trying to get Rick to pull his gun so he could justify shooting him.
