Which is pretty much what Dale was warning them all against, wasn't it?

I always questioned the timing from when Rick went into a coma and then came out of it.

Because of everything that happened in the world during that time, at least a week had to pass because you can't go from never having a zombie to the world being over run by them overnight.

And, if a week passed, how long did Rick go without food, etc. When he woke up, the IV in his arm was empty. Had that been put in earlier in the day, the day before or when? If it had been too long, then why wasn't Rick weaker when he woke up?

I took that to be a dream sequence.

The series is based on a comic book, er Graphic Novel, and the opening scene in the hospital is a very comic bookish way to get into the series.

    In a good way.

The movie 28 Days Later uses a similar technique as well, though it isn't the first scene.

I'm starting to think we should make a second thread on this show...because it's obvious some of us want to talk about the comic and some don't want to at all.
It's frustrating to want to type something and know that I shouldn't since it would "spoil" something (which it won't since they have obviously veered from the books).
Just my thoughts...I can't not talk about the series without referencing the books...it's not my fault I read this shit before it became a show! :)

It's not a terrible idea, but I'd ask that anyone who joins that thread not be afraid to check in on this one because I enjoy the discussion with everyone (though I like to stay away from the comic spoilers). And with only one episode left this season, it may be a little late for a new thread.

Exactly. And I think the producers did a great job depicting it with Shane.

I don't mind the comic book spoilers even though I have only read a couple of issues, but Kirkman has said that the show will be following the books quite a bit. Maybe not in specific events, but the overall storyline and key elements. Which is why the season finale should be so much fun.

I do like your idea, though. Why not start a separate thread with comic book spoilers on? bigpern has a point about it being a little late for this season, but I'm sure we will all have a lot to talk about next week and we can always revive both once season 3 begins.

The other thread is a good idea, spikechiquet. It will certainly be tempting to read that thread, though!

It's cathartic to speak freely over there! :) At least now I won't feel like I have to "shut up" when I write something...although, I'll be quite on this thread about comic stuff now! LOL
