Herschel not reloading his shotgun annoyed me. Mainly because I just bought a new shotgun yesterday and not having to reload every 5 shots would have made my shooting display all the more fun. That old kitchen table I destroyed wouldn't have lasted nearly as long.

The more I think about last night's episode, the more one thing really bothers me. How is it, exactly, that it doesn't matter if it's Andrea, Herschel, T-Dogg, Carl, Rick, Daryl, Glen-- or anyone really--that shoots at zombies and they still manage to get perfect headshots, every single time? From a moving vehicle no less?

Like, really? Seriously? I don't think I saw one missed shot the whole episode and considering half the people shooting at the zombies in this episode don't regularly get a lot of time shooting at them, Rick must be teaching one hell of a gun class in the group's down time.

Glenn missed at least once, but I guess that was supposed to be Maggie's shaky driving.

  4. YES!!!

That stuck out like a sore thumb to me as well.

I mean, they did show him trying to reload, but it was after he had already fired about 60 rounds. And, it was right as they pulled him away and into the truck to escape. I thought for sure he was a goner.

  6. I took it that helicopter in the beginning was a flashback - to show you how the Zombie hoard got moving and eventually got the farm.

And WTF is up with the chick who saved Andrea?
Who the hell walks arouind with two armless zombies on chains? That has to be a comic book character, right?
But it doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the show. Zombies - on chains?

And why the hell don't they pick up new vehicles? Newer RVs and trucks instead of the beaters?

    Great episode though.

How does that work, exactly, zombies on chains? On poles, I could see -- it keeps them away a certain distance, the way Animal Control snags pit bulls by the neck. But on chains? Can't they just saunter up behind the hooded one and chomp away? Don't need arms for that.

Explanation in tiny text, don't know if that would be considered a spoiler or not, but just in case

She cut off their lower jaws too, so no biting.

  9. Egg-actly!

It looks cool and all but it's un-practical.

And minor spoiler: She - I am told from friends - is a character from the comic book.

    Also,
Did anyone watch Talking Dead? I tried. Got five minutes in then they took a call - from Fred Armisen. Click.

Can't tell you how happy I am that Herschel is still with them. Really like his character and Maggie too.

Man, I had effed up zombie dreams last night.

And I really dug that episode. Yeah, the marksmanship and endless clips weren't real, but I've got to quit pretending this show is more than what is and just go along for the ride.

That was a GREAT way to introduce the new character (yes, you all know who it is). I'm really curious about her. Also, those zombies were arm and jawless, so they're basically useless to attack.

Watching Patricia and Jimmy get eaten was as much fun as it was disturbing. God, that was a lot of blood, especially on Patricia's neck.

I thought Hershel was a goner when he was re-loading.

Rick Grimes' heel turn was cool. "This is no longer a democracy!" I loved that scene with him and Lori, and you can see him actually... almost enjoying telling that story and see the horror grow in her face.

  12. Did not notice they lacked jaws.

I wish Rick had shot Lori. Fuck. Her.
