Jimmy's screaming when he was getting eaten alive was haunting. I've been avoiding Talking Dead because I just want to enjoy the show ... I don't care about the comics. Don't want to read them. I appreciate everyone here for at least pointing out when they're going to talk about a potential spoiler so I can avoid it.

This might have been the best episode so far. I really liked it.

I want to issue all our military those 90-round 12-gauages and have the cast of this show teach them how to deal out head shots with hand guns from a moving vehicle!

I'll give them a pass and assume that Herschel was reloading frantically whenever the camera was off him. But I thought it was funny that these walkers were all over the place and he never glances around.

I mentioned it one one of the threads earlier. According to Talking Dead, that actor was completely freaked by the scene, so I'm sure there was some very real feeling in those screams.

That's the problem with zombies in this world: They keep coming. You can run full speed for a few minutes, but whenever you stop to rest, they will be catching up. You wear out, they don't.

Apparently, the zombies on chains are somehow useful since they have no lower jaws and no arms, so they can't bite or scratch her. Probably better discussed on the thread that includes the comics for now.

She was discussed later in Talking Dead. Kirkman described her as knowing exactly how to survive in this world, something the survivors on the show have been struggling to figure out.

Agreed. Plus, at that point, I'm not sure how fast she was actually going. She looked freakin exhausted and it makes sense - she had a bag wrapped around her and was running into the sunlight hours of the next day, meaning she was going for a while. Laurie Holden said on Talking Dead last night (not a spoiler here) they filmed those running/woods scenes from about 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. and she was exhausted by the end of the day.

My theory from last night: The zombies give her the scent of a zombie so she doesn't get attacked. But it doesn't explain why those two zombies don't constantly try to attack her, even if they're unable to do damage. Zombies don't understand failure.

This sounds a little morbid, but, well, that's what this show is: I think the writers kept around Beth and to an extent Maggie and Carol for a reason. That prison might be a little dark. And anytime you've got women around in a lawless world, bad shit tends to happen to them. (Remember Randall's story about his Gang of 30 strolling up to that father and his two young daughters?).

Perhaps that black cape and hood thing conceal her "living scent" or something? Like the zombies have no idea they're following around a badass human.

It wasn't just that he was screaming. It was that he kept screaming for Herschel. For some reason, that detail just made it even worse.

Keeping alive Beth and Carol was very, very surprising. Maybe they didn't want to eliminate half the women from the group in one episode, but I'm still surprised.

Oh, and T-DOG MADE IT! AND HAD REAL LINES!
