I applied to be a PA, but haven't heard anything. I was hoping to get lucky. They film about 45 minutes from me. I might make a trip there to see how close I can get.

The Atlanta media and the smalltown papers have in the past covered when shooting starts or provides an update a few months into the process. It's May through November this year, just like last year, and I know they're out there as we speak working on season 3. That's pretty cool to know.

There's a site - WalkingDeadLocations.com that lists all of the filming sites on an interactive Google map (I'm totally doing that tour one of these Saturdays), but also posts filming information. It hasn't been updated in a few weeks, but if you look at the comment section of the most up-to-date post, it's quite active with what's going on.

And, yes, welcome back indeed. Great actor, crazy character, and now he's got a huge motive because of that rooftop stuff. That should make for really good drama.

You all know I've been critical of the show here, but I'm excited and optimistic for season 3. I think adding new characters (and killing off a few in the finale) enhances big-time our listless cast. Another setting, the prison and (I won't spoil), with far more moving parts than that fucking farm will make for better atmosphere. Lastly, with the behind-the-scenes creative discord and confusion gone, that should make for a clearer direction and cleaner scripts.

Finally finished up Season 2. How many deaths can we hang on Carl and/or Lori for not locking that kid up and letting him wander around in Zombieland? The group would have been better off if Carl just died when he got shot.

And just to be clear - Rick was telling the truth about the virus infecting everyone? I thought there was a chance that Shane was bitten and infected. Prior to trying to kill Rick.

I don't think he was lying. I think that's the idea: Everyone who dies will come back as a zombie. It's the only way to explain the zombies that are totally in tact and the mass number of zombies.

I'm under the assumption that that's what the doctor told him in the CDC. Hard to get official confirmation of that though as the only death we've seen since being told this was Shane and his scene where he killed that teenage doofus left it someway open to interpretation.

Also makes it more plausible that an infection would take place. If some sort of airborn contagion got out, affecting EVERYONE, inevitably people would die of natural causes and then rise up as zombies and those zombies would then start killing people because that's what they do. Eventually, the virus would multiply and get out of control.

The obvious secondary question: Does it expedite death? It wouldn't seem to, given that we've seen several people recover from serious injuries.

So Shane gets shot and comes back to life within minutes and Randall gets his neck snapped and is still non-zombie hours later when Daryl and Glenn find him?
