I was wondering the same thing ... not sure what age she's supposed to be portrayed in the show. In real life, the actor who plays Carl is 13 and the actress who plays Beth graduated from college in 2006. So, yeah, Poin territory.

 

Regarding the two remaining prisoners: No way we've seen the last of them. The hick said they were harmless while pleading for his life, so of course they aren't harmless. The other guy coldly stared at Rick and said he wouldn't beg for his life and never has. That tells me that guy has been through some serious shit. Take all of that, plus they know Rick is a threat who will kill, and we're going to get some drama.

Food will become an issue as those two will say they're owed it. Rick will probably try to take more from ration, citing the three dead prisoners' portions belong to him.

Also, I'm not convinced those two prisoners realize just how messed up the world is. No way some short conversations and a crash course in zombie killing can create an actual worldview for them after being locked up for 10 months as the world burned.

 

I would think that they'll ingratiate themselves to Rick somehow (maybe saving someone) at some point.

 

That's right. I remember now that you brought it up. Big-time speed freak, although he won't be able to get his fix in this world.
I love this prison dynamic. It's as if the prisoner's are free and those on the outside are in prison. In prison they can keep Walkers at bay, there is some resemblance of safety and still function - to a degree - as individuals.

 

How do we know this?

True. But who knows, maybe this guy is the Walter White of the Walking Dead. ;D Would make for a funny episode, all the Walkers hopped up on crystal.

 

I've read some of the comics and I don't think it about the comics at all. I think he's mentioning the fact that in the past two episodes we've seen that the fence has made things (relatively) safe in that Rick and the group don't have to worry about surprise zombie attacks because their area is secure and Hershel was already talking about planting crops outside, etc.

I think the level of hate here for anything that could resemble a reference to the comics is overblown and you're all better than that. I get that we want to avoid spoilers but making a general comment about the show that could be maybe, possibly, be construed as a mention to the comic is not something worth losing your cool over.

"I think Rick has proven to be a leader and will find a way to make this prison safe for everyone," does not warrant an "ERRMAGOD! STOP TALKING ABOUT THINGS WE HAVEN'T BEEN EXPRESSLY TOLD ON THE ACTUAL TELEVISION SCREEN OR WE WILL KILL YOU." response.

Lighten up.
