Probably discussed on here, but I loved how the group in the town mirrors the prison.

The screwed up leader, the guy with the bow and arrow, the pregnant woman, a Dixon, an Asian, a big black dude, even perhaps a power couple -- Rick and Lori vs. Andrea and the Governor. Even if Rick and Lori aren't together, he'd still protect his son's mother.

Speaking of Carl, there was no Carl in Woodbury, but he was probably just missing like the real one.

Anyone else notice the lack of men in the town?

The Governor really made it a point to discuss his ambition to rebuild society. Then we got Chekhov's Pregnant Woman waving at Andrea/Michonne and that lady who was walking/talking with them. I have a feeling if you're a woman in Woodbury and able to carry a child, you WILL become pregnant whether you want to or not. That's why The Governor has been so hospitable to Andrea and Michonne instead of just killing them.

There's a lot of darkness that can be explored by this angle.

The Gov. may have come from Utah. He is the messiah and impregnates all the ladies because he is the chosen one. Warren Jeffs style. Creepy.
Plus, what the hell is going on in the experiment room. Reminded me of Frankenstein. Something sick is going on in there for sure.

Yeah, I was thinking that could've been a reason why they decided to take out the National Guardsmen also. Too many men, not enough women to rebuild the population.

Then again, it was probably done just to grab a ton of supplies to restock the shelves, so to speak.

I do think it was more to take their supplies, but I wonder if there's something deeper there. I mean, wouldn't a leader want a group of military guys to help protect Woodbury? Perhaps he saw them as a threat and more trouble than they'd be worth.

The Governor's main qualification as a leader seems to be that he has led the group. He probably wants to avoid strong alpha-male types as much as possible.

    Wow. That was ... unexpected.
Figured we'd get another mundane episode that deepens the Governor/Woodbury plot and included a few hit and run attacks by the third prisoner (which was obvious from the outset) to introduce a new threat. And instead we got ... that. Did not see that coming.
    Holy shit.
