That's the worst thing any television show in history has done to one of it's characters.

Outstanding episode. People talk about shows giving you a punch to the gut, this one delivered blow after blow, including Rick's reaction at the end.

The only thing I thought that made the show a bit flawed is how the zombies got into the prison.

My hope was that Carl had been fucking around off-camera ... remember the break-in episode where he snuck around for medical supplies? My thought was that he left a door ajar and that discovery of his fuck-up would serve as a counter-point to Rick's hubris as far as being the dictatorial all-knowing leader he's been.

But to have the one rogue prisoner survive? Meh. That was one melodramatic turn too far.

But it was a gripping episode.

And I'll admit it. I wanted the full-on, dark-as-fuck endgame with Lori's baby being born undead. Would've been powerful and extraordinarily bleak.

The last few months I haven't been able to watch anything with death in it, but I'm still curious. What happened tonight?

Don't watch it. Incredibly bleak death-shrouded show. Seriously.

This. At least two, and maybe three, major characters will not be on next week's show.

I'm not going to watch it. Which is why I wanted to know what happened :) I don't want to wait for any reviews or wikia updates.

For the record, this is why no one should worry on this thread about that book that shall not be named.

Lori's fate was FAR different in the book that shall not be named and this was FAR more graphic and messed up. That was a tough one to watch.

This was one hell of an episode.

I didn't mind the "rogue" prison, because we never were 100 percent certain he had been killed. All we heard was him screaming, and assumed he had been bitten.

The scene in the yard was freaking gruesome, especially the one zombie whose head was cut in half by Glenn.

And then we get the group split up inside the prison, with all hell breaking loose. That was intense second half-hour. T-Dog sacrificing himself to save Carol -- at least we think she's still alive -- was great. And the scene with Lori and Carl ... as much as I despised her character, that was a powerful scene.

And Rick at the end ... dear God, that was emotional.

I love this fucking show, but tonight was almost too dark for me.

I thought, for sure, that the baby was going to die, become a zombie and kill Lori from within. I'm thankful they didn't go that way but they just about pushed whatever envelope still exists right to the freaking edge.

The impact on Rick just has to be overwhelming. He's the one who left that prisoner alive. For all the hard decisions he has made, going the route of leaving the guy to the walkers ended up costing the group dearly.
