Nah, I wish I could take credit for this train wreck. Wonder what he's going to do with the hair next week. This has to be the peak for Sanjaya, right? How can he top the crying girl and now the pony mohawk?

Why am I a moron to feel that Sligh, who made himself a public figure by competing on this show, should publicly renounce his connection to a racist school before asking voters to choose him as their American Idol? If he did renounce it, I don't think he did it on the show or in any major publication. I haven't seen it. But if you have a link that shows I'm wrong, I apologize in advance.

From the bits I've read, he is still connected to the fundamentalist Christian movement. That doesn't make him a racist. I'm just pointing it out because he never gave any indication of the connection during his time on the show. I wonder why. You would think he might have gotten a lot of votes by publicly appealing to that segment of the audience.

In the meantime, I appreciate a good discussion. I don't think name calling is necessary.

 

By having Paula (or Secrest) toss their underwear at him while on stage?

I suppose I've missed all the "vent your spleen" segments, when people do things like admit they blew the entire high school football team, once killed a hobo or, oh yeah, "I just want all of you to know I went to BJU but I'm off that bandwagon now."

As for anyone being made to attend BJU -- surprised they don't sell more gear with those initials -- I've no pity. If at 17/18 you don't make some of your own decisions, you deserve to have your brain washed by a bunch of self-righteous knuckleheads.

Oh yeah, Sligh's gone because the boy has no range. Couldn't do anything that wasn't of the soulful blues-rock variety. He shit the bed three straight weeks. Could have an incredibly lucrative career in contemporary Christian, however. Might end up selling more albums than anyone else on the show.

I am amazed how many here are killing him for his hair, whatever. Whatever happened to rock n roll? You people need an enema.

And by the way, we can all name a dozen recording artists who can't sing. And David Lee Roth is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

 

Ohh, ohh ... I'll start ... Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain. Love 'em, love 'em, but don't want to hear them sing anything by Diana Ross.

 

Chris was good but limited. He didn't have much range and that may have been his downfall. He wasn't as good looking as Sangay and that definitely was a drawback.
