You summed up my thoughts very nicely. I don't get how everyone bashes Melinda for the "aw shucks" bit. If people are going to hold her accountable for that, it seems like Jordin is just as guilty. God help us that someone actually owns some modesty, which makes sense, being the church person that she is. Not a fake bone about Melinda, she deserved better than this. She should have won.

And now, I probably don't even watch the finale. Sanjaya making the finals would have been no less a joke than what we saw from the results tonight. I'm guessing Melinda will get a call from Jennifer Hudson with some good advice soon enough.

 

Hardly the point. If McPhee had won, she'd have much more in CD sales than Hicks has as the actual Idol winner. And I'm sorry, talk about Idol being fixed is pretty much black helicopter territory.

That said, I don't care, we're not grading on curves. If we did, Sanjaya would be cut more slack. We're grading on who's better now, right? Jordin was nothing more than OK last night and downright atrocious with Bon Jovi week.

It's a joke that Melinda didn't miss a single note on the show and didn't reach the finals.

I don't buy that the show is fixed - but I don't want anyone describing this as a "singing" competition anymore. What a joke! Melinda wiped the floor with the other two and she's gone? Bring back Sanjaya. Fonzie has left the ramp and is combing his hair back.
