American Idol

The only American to never watch a minute of "American Idol" suddenly has to ask: Does this show come on every night??

 

I thought the girl who sang the Heart song was pretty good. I also thought the girl who went last who Simon made cry was decent, or at least better than she was judged...

 

According to my secretary, the websites that track these things showed her getting the most votes. Last night was the first one that I watched this season and I'd buy a LaKisha album and concert ticket after hearing just that one song. And I'm depressed that Phillipi Sparks has a child old enough to be on the show.

 

I just checked Dial Idol and they have porn girl third behind Melinda and LaKisha. It will be interesting to see how far her notoriety can carry her. I wonder if "Vote for the Worst" has her back too...

According to the same site, Sanjaya is safe and is the second leading vote getter of the guys behind only Sundance...

 

A very important question: what in hell happened to all of Gina's tattoos? She had armfuls but they somehow disappeared last night in that sleeveless get-up. She only had the little ankle one left.

The fix may be in on porn girl, and you guys know how much I love this show, so it's big for me to admit that.

I don't think porn girl finishes in the bottom 2.... But if the producers want her out of there, she's toast.

Oh, I'm sorry, Moderately Dangerously.

At the moment it's on 3 days a week -- T-W-Th. The only thing that's over-the-top is stretching the results show to an hour on Thursdays. That should really only be a half hour.

It takes time to let 20 people sing a song and get judges comments.

When the field is narrowed, Idol goes to 2 days a week.

You can't really knock it because Idol sleeps in the Fall. They don't cram in 2 seasons a year. Also, it looks like FOX is going to win February sweeps. It's hard to argue with the strategy.

I'm not a singer, but Sanjaya and Antonella are quite possibly the weakest vocalists in the show's history. FWIW, I think Gina could give the admittedly better vocalists (Doolittle and lakisha) a run for their money if she would just let the rocker out and belt out a few songs. You don't necessarily have to be the best vocalist to win on this show. I'm just a bit disappointed tyhat she isn;t letting her personality carry her through yet.

 

I think it is clear that America has nearly run out of singers. Lakisha is in another league. Melinda is very good and is still in the running. I could throw a dart out of a window and hit someone better than Sanjaya. He is gaaaaaaawd awful. In fact, no guy is worthy of being in top 3.

 

I agree with this list almost exactly. Antonella will be this year's smart Kellie Pickler, though, and will last for awhile. When she gets kicked off, however, she won't receive a contract to make an album in my opinion. Am the only one who sees Leslie and thinks she looks like a younger Harriett Hayes (from Studio 60 -- Sarah Paulson)?
