American Idol

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Yawn, Feb 7, 2007.

  1. I don't know what's worse, Sanjaya sticking around or having to listen to this guy butcher Pearl Jam again ...

I dunno... For me, either of those boys being gone would have been fine. I've not ever been a big Sundance fan, so him being gone is perfectly fine with me. It could have only been better if both he and Vajayjay had left.

Sanjaya is going to shit his pants next week. That big stage is going to be too much for him.

    Two quick thoughts...

I liked Sundance early, but Sundance has sucked hard since getting to Hollywood. He sings like he's scared to death.

And the Frenchie vs. Antonella stuff is a joke. Frenchie did porn on the web; Antonella had pictures turn up where she has her hands over her boobs. There's a slight difference there. (Glad she's gone, though.)

People who watch American Idol don't get Pearl Jam.

But you know what? The Antonellas and Sanjayas shouldn't even make it to Hollywood....they can't sing. If Simon can't find 24 talented singers who can make this a real competition, don't take 24.

  7. Don't forget to mention that the people who sing on AI don't get Pearl Jam either. The only guy who might have pulled it off was Daughtry ... great rendition of the Johnny Cash/Live Walk the Line song.

For sheer entertainment value alone, I'm sort of glad they kept Sanjaya. I haven't watched every season, but I'm starting to think this season sucks. Last season, I was surprised by a few big performances from people who didnt' seem to have much talent. I can only hope for the same thing this year, because this group sucks. Sanjaya is the Ace Young of the bunch. Maybe he'll pull out one performance to justify his appearance here.

I loved Ace Young. Maybe it was the way he looked into the camera during that Father song.

Valid point on Sanjaya. Part of me can't wait until next week to see:
    1. What stupid song he picks
    2. How badly he butchers it
    3. How much Randy and Simon rip the crap out of him and Paula stammers to find a silver lining (my guess: "Hey, at least you didn't trip on stage.")
    4. And if she's a guest judge, how much Diana Ross lies about his performance

I couldn't complain about Vajayjay tonight after porn girl got the boot. America is still stupid, but they're a little less stupid. I couldn't expect them to become smart overnight or anything.

Just in case someone's about to take aim at spup for the vajayjay thing, she and I couldn't remember anyone's name early on (especially the boys), so we were giving them nicknames for easy reference, and vajayjay is a Grey's Anatomy quote-deal.

I am now going to light myself on fire for explaining all of that.
