Simon, I believe she could pull it off. She's not a country singer. We both know that, but she's got presence, range and tone. I can hear her in my head singing that song and doing well.
    She's the one to beat.

I don't think so, but you may very well be right.

Are you learning from the school of JDV with your third-person dialogue?

As far as content goes, though, your post was spot on. Some people are going to have to go up a flight of stairs just to hold with those three.

Wait until we go into the fourth person with our dialogue.

LaKisha made my jaw drop, especially when you consider that is a condensed version of the song. The question is can she sing that well when she's not belting out the Big Girl's National Anthem?

The answer is YES!!! Did you not hear her in earlier sessions. This young lady is the best of the 24. No question about it. Melissa Doolittle and the 17-year old Jordin are good. LaKisha is better. She has something all the other contestants don't have - range.

As others have said, the white girls were average to poor. Barba, in particular, is out of her league.

LiKisha has amazing natural talent. She learned how to sing in church. Think about that. What a gift.

The difference between LiKisha, and say, that Gina girl, is that Gina is rehearsing, practicing, trying to hit that note... while the notes just come for LiKisha.

My second favorite vocal was the first girl - Stephanie.

I do like Gina. I think she's spunky and I thought she hit the note, but Likisha will win this if she doesn't get overly confident and find herself on her way home.

About the middle of Wednesday's show, Ms. Slappy said to me... "Check out the girl who sang first in the background... she's just like Fantasia -- she's not clapping for the other contestants after or getting into their songs like the rest of the singers are."

Right choices so far. I won't post who they are for those recording it, but America got it right so far.

Wife said the same thing. She was definitely trying to stare down the competition.
