From what I read, his opponent (who remains unnamed) won't be allowed to do that. They're ruling him a "downed fighter" and a standing fighter can't kick another one who is on the ground.

But it still seems like you could walk up and punch him right in the face. Or pick him up and spike him like a football.

Reach disadvantage = he doesn't have any arms. Yes, I'd call that a disadvantage.

Look, I have no doubt this young man has a lot of heart and is mentally and physically stronger than most people in this world. But he needs to know when enough is enough.

The person that took this fight is in a no-win situation, literally. He can't kick (because they consider the amputee a downed opponent), his punching won't be effective because the guy is only three feet off the ground and nobody punches that low, he won't win any grappling matches because the guy has no limbs in which to use as leverage.

I think it's fantastic that this kid has overcome a lot in his life to accomplish a lot. But this is just stupid. He proved his point that he can function like a normal person. Now it's time for him to start considering his opponent's position in the matter.

I know when he first started wrestling nobody wanted to wrestle him because either A.) they didn't want to look like a bully beating up a handicapped kid, or B) they didn't want to lose to the handicapped kid. Back then, he was trying to prove he could do it. Now he's just become a spectacle and he's trying to milk his 15 minutes.

Hopefully that will be Kyle Maynard's first - and last - MMA "fight."

Saw two of the rounds on YouTube and it's probably the most boring 'fight' ever. Amputee scuttles around the ring avoiding the skinny dude, who lands what I'd describe as a half-dozen slaps to the face per round.

    Yawn.
