    Zep quit after Bonzo died.

Well I really screwed up missing that one. In my slight defense, I'm not old enough to remember Led Zep as a touring/recording entity. (It's no defense!)

OK, this is for those heavily into Pink Floyd.

"Atom Heart Mother" -- both the album and the song -- has a pretty sharp love it/hate it split among Floyd fans. I will admit that it's grown on me as I've gotten older, especially side two of the LP (the one with all the acoustic songs and "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" on it).

If you want to find out a lot of cool background about AHM and Pink Floyd's transitionary period in 1970, I highly recommend this recently-posted documentary:

The Who would have a different legacy if they had done so after Moon’s death, I think, instead of a third-place legacy band.

Bullshit. Yes, nothing after Moon died matched what they had done. But they didn't do much after and Eminence Front is great. They had great shows with Zak Starkey and nobody should think less of them because they toured so Entwistle could make some money.

I still can't tell Daltrey and Townshend apart on Who vocals. It's a major blind spot (deaf spot?)

    Really?

The booming, powerful voice is Daltrey. The guy struggling at the upper edge of his range singing through his nose is Townshend.

I just have to know who sings what on each song. Obviously Daltrey sings Baba O'Reilly. Townshend sings on Eminence Front. I used to get Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie confused too.

Thanks, everyone, for this entertaining thread.

    My only addition:

Pink Floyd fans: Dark Side of the Moon is the greatest album of all time!!!

Also Floyd fans: Dark Side of the Moon is only the 23rd-best Floyd album!!!!Eleven!!1!

    Waters shit on Wright.

    Fuck Waters on multiple levels.

In somewhat related news, REO Speedwagon passed through town and I noticed the keyboard player since the salad days was gone.

    Guess he lives local, huh:

"As most of you know, our brother and co-founding member Neal Doughty concluded that fifty-five years on the road was enough, and is home in Minneapolis enjoying this time with his wife and family. We, on the other hand, are in hotel rooms in Asheville, NC, awaiting our show at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort tomorrow night.
