One tiny note: Van Slyke was the Tigers' first-base coach from 2006-2009 until he left to pursue "other opportunities," which was almost certainly a nice way to say he was thrown out of on his ass for writing an unauthorized tell-all book about the Tigers' disastrous 2008 season.

 

As soon as someone starts in with the "You'll say that was his fault, too" replies, I know they're out of ammo.
