Sounded to be a great, younger pitcher and guy with huge potential.

    RIP Adenhart.

My thought watching that as well. The story about telling the father to get out there for the game and then this happens.....damn.

This sucks. I have a really funny joke to make. Not about the pitcher though. I learned that lesson on the Heath Ledger thread. I'll wait a few days.

    That's smart.

Because, just a hunch here, I'm guessing it's not that funny.

I just can't imagine how someone can run from an accident.

I hit a family with my car when I was in college. They were behind another car on a turn on a curve, they were out of my vision, so I didn't see them. I thought it was clear and whap! I sideswiped their minivan.

Fortunately, it was a low speed accident, their van door was dented without getting pushed into any seats, etc., and no one was hurt. No alcohol was involved on either my part or theirs.

But all I could do was go up to the van and apologize profusely. I remember the mom's kids were crying in the back, which just ate me up.

Responsibility isn't always easy, but you take it whether good or bad.

Of course, that didn't stop that family from milking their minimal damage to the hilt on their insurance claim, but that's another matter. Ultimately I was the one who hit them, so I took the blame.

RIP Nick Adenhart. You deserved better.

Bubs, I'm guessing if you drive drunk on a suspended license, your thought processes aren't what most people consider normal.

    True that.

Obviously, and I'm not implying that you were offering one Pally, it doesn't excuse a thing.

Turns out the lone survivor in Adenhart's car is Jon Wilhite, a former CSUF Titan baseball player; one of the other victims was an aspiring sports agent named Henry Pearson. The young woman driver, Courtney Stewart, as it turns out took a couple of classes with my daughter in the broadcast dept at CSUF.

Under these circumstances, if spnited were to go through the roof because you're mentioning fantasy baseball, his priorities would be seriously out of whack.

As has been said many times before, this is horrible no matter what kind of prospect the guy is.

When something like this or the Mike Coolbaugh death happens, it's hard to start focusing again on a game when tragedy weighs so heavily on the mind. This wasn't just a young pitcher in the rotation. This was a man whose life was taken away just as it was about to begin. A son, possibly a brother, possibly a husband, a teammate has been taken away from people who love him and care about him in the most hideous of fashions.

Now isn't the time to bitch about someone mentioning whether or not he was on a fantasy team.

The fact that people keep insisting that there's such a thing as a "minor offense" when it comes to this is precisely the problem.
