You're not good enough for the Plain Dealer... and you're not good enough to be a gnat in Cleveland. Just get used to it already.

    Madonna -- without a doubt.
    Chic -- Uh-uh.
    John Mellencamp -- HELL, yes.
Beastie Boys -- not a fan, but they have made their mark. Yes.
Afrika Bambaataa -- I lack history and appreciation for music.
Leonard Cohen -- Broad definition of the genre, but if he's on there, yes.
Dave Clark Five -- Should perhaps be the most unanimous. Amazing they're not there already.
    The Ventures -- No.
    Donna Summer -- Yes.

Is that anything like the Honeybees that Ginger, Mary Ann and Lovie formed on Gilligan's Island as an answer to the Mosquitos?

And come to think of it, shouldn't the Hall have a special exhibit covering all the mid-60s sitcoms that had an episode built around a parody of the Beatles?

It'll be a sad day when Bingo, Bango, Bongo and Irving make the Hall.

Of all the stupid shit that stoob has posted here, calling the Beastie Boys "flash in the pan wanna bees" is likely the dumbest.

They've got mad hits like they was Rod Carew.

I didn't like their music. Last I checked, it wasn't a crime to dislike the beastie boys. They were, pardon the expression, wiggers. They didn't appeal to me at all.

So because you didn't like them, they were "flash in the pan wannabees?"
    That's nonsense.

So, you'll use white power and wiggers, but label others racist...
Wow. Just when you thought boots couldn't lower the bar any more....

    You are a moron, boots.

You don't have to like them, but to call them "flash in the pan wanna bees" not to mention "wiggers" is just flat out stupid.

They've been around forever, got more popular as they got older and never tried to remotely be anything other than what they are.

And no, I won't pardon the expression.

They were not top headliners in my opinion. They could not rap and what they said made absolutely no sense. They tried to come off like they were hip hop stars but what they were doing was imitating black rappers. They used the same formula Elvis used. So what made them so special? They weren't cross over stars and their biggest hit, "Right to Party" or something like that was really their only mass hit.
And they flickered out just as quickly as they flamed on.
