Thanks for the cue, DD. I'll take it from here.

Africa Bambaatta? Chic? The Dave Clark Five? And no Rush? Are you effin' KIDDING ME?

What person with a functioning brain cell that registers the ability to hear and appreciate music could come up with such nominations? And why are they still allowed to function independent of nurses or other medical attention?

PC, they need more than a time-out. They need to blow the process up and start over.

Meanwhile, regarding Donna Summer, she should get in. Her impact on disco and that era is undisputed.

Fuckin' place. No wonder it's in Cleveland. ;)

Madonna's a lock and I guess the Beastie Boys will get in too even if it's not my thing.

Mellencamp? I'm kind of 50/50 on him. He had an outstanding run with American Fool, Scarecrow and Lonesome Jubilee but hasn't really reached those heights since. I could see him getting in, though.

Dave Clark Five and the Ventures? Not a fucking chance.

A case can be made for both Chic and Donna Summer and Leonard Cohen will ride the same wave that put Patti Smith in.

And KISS and Rush should be in long before any of the acts on this list get in.

This is the Hall of Pretentious, Harmonic Douchebags as long as Kiss isn't in. Once they take a replica of Gene Simmons' tongue and use it as a red carpet on the day that Kiss is inducted, then it becomes the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

If Rush didn't suck donkey balls, maybe they'd be in. Worst. Band. Ever!

If Journey isn't a part of it, I want nothing to do with it.

No Genesis, either ... in addition to the Rush slight.

You know, the more I think about the exclusion of KISS, the more pissed I get.

This is a band that stands alone in terms of concert presence and experience with the make-up and the pyrotechnics--they were true originals and trailblazers in that regard.

They also dominated the second half of the 70s: 2 groundbreaking live albums and a string of platinum releases.

I mean, how many other bands had simultaneous releases of solo albums? How many others have made movies (albeit high in cheesiness value)?

And the musical catalog is really quite strong. Even casual rock fans would recognize 'Beth', Rock N Roll All Nite', 'Detroit Rock City', 'Lick It Up' And that's just scratching the surface of 'Dr Love', 'Strutter', 'Christine', etc.

    Mutherfuckin' Hall.

I can't say as I ever got KISS, but the points are highly valid. Especially considering some of the other crap the R&R HOF has ushered through the doors.
