Your polls of rampant opposition to the war in Iraq is based on two premises. One, the doves like yourself who don't want war in the first place; the other, the assumption that because we're not just completely kicking ass. Remember the early stages of the war? The numbers were QUITE different then. Some of those might have changed their opinion because of the WMD issue, but this is Patton's America and another clear truth is, as Patton said, America loves a winner and will not tolerate a loser. You can debate whether this is a winnable war all you want, and I'll agree that the strategy hasn't been effective - starting with a premature trimming of troops and border control - shocking, since we do such a good job with our own borders. But the "opinions" of Americans are more complex than Bush is an idiot and we need to run vs. Stay the Course.
