Maybe it's high time that F_B appointed a treasurer for us. That way he can stay the idea man while somebody else worries about the details :D

FDP, we're like the insurgents in Iraq. We've got to get the occupying party the hell out first, then we can worry about who's controlling the gang. So, as soon as we take over and the Republicans bail, we'll have our own little civil war to determine leadership.

If Fenian can have a gang, I can have a death squad.

I'd like to be The Whip.

I have no idea what that position entails, but it sounds cool.

Nevermind Yawn, but Ragu definitely has me confused. In point one, he seems to condemn those who don't want to give the government carte blanche on stem cell research; in point two, he wants the government to get the hell out of our lives. Which is it Ragu?

(Maybe you just need to clarify that you're in favor of stem cell research but don't want the government sponsoring it...that would make sense.)

I think all the claiming of numbers and jockeying for positions of supposed power or influence is grossly premature.
I believe it is up to the gangleader himself...one Fenian_Bastard...to make these determinations, and even to decide who is worthy to be part of his gang.
I am certain this is not a responsibility he will take lightly.

Not sure what could have possibly been confusing about what I wrote. The debate over stem cell research isn't about government funding of it. The Christian right would like legislation to make it illegal. The have been successful to varying degrees. As a libertarian, that is repugnant to me.

To explain, point number one said, the constitution prohibits government establishment of religion. To the extent that the Christian right has made efforts to impose its religion on government institutions, it is flat out unconstitutional, and turns many people off. But if it is only a matter of them having political views based on some biblical interpretation or what some goofy Jerry Fallwell type tells them to believe--and they don't violate the establishment clause--they are within their rights to have their beliefs as much as anyone else with political beliefs. *Why* you have your political beliefs doesn't invalidate them in a democracy--even if you are a total loon, as many of these "Gospel Conservatives" are.

To explain point number two, I was giving my personal views. I am a libertarian and a conservative, in the Goldwater sense--before these Christian moralizers hijacked the word. By and large, these Christian crusaders want to impose their moral standards on the country and use the force of government to enforce their views. As a libertarian, I say get government the hell out of my life. It's a violation of my personal liberty. How's about they live their lives they way they want, I live my life the way I want and my neighbor lives his life the way he wants--without the government trying to micromanage things that are extralegal?

There was nothing contradictory in what I wrote.

"So you want me to talk?"

"No, Mr. Fenian, I want you to die."
