We must work in the same market!

I think somebody from the Big Ten should at least write to the station manager and issue a warning about this. If the station ignores it, he probably shouldn't be credentialed for this event -- although the station shouldn't be banned from the title game.

Do tell. Honestly, just curious. I'm ambivalent about Scott—as I am most people I know from TV. Not coming to his defense or looking to rip him, but I find it hard to believe he commits more laughable acts than a clueless TV reporter asking a coach at a media day for an autograph for a girl he calls his girlfriend then says isn't actually his girlfriend?

I know Scott's not the most popular of media folk, but I can't imagine him doing something worse than that, especially not three times a week.

But hey, I'm wrong a lot. So of which uproarious atrocities were you speaking?

This guy makes us uncomfortable and makes our jobs look like a circus.

A Pulitzer Prize-winning plagiarist? Jimmy's World? Now THAT makes us look bad.

My guess is they're ripping him for stalking an Iowa fan and not a Nebraska fan.

Stu Scott makes these ridiculous shout-outs to his "buddies" in pro sports every night he's on the show. It is indeed laughable...I just toss it up to being the new ESPN.

Somewhat of a tangent, but a question for those with That Guy/That Gal in your market. At what point do you step in and tell That Guy/Gal what they're doing isn't the right way to do things? Or do you let That Guy/Gal keep doing it because it's none of your business? Part of me thinks you have an obligation as a journalist to let him/her know and because he/she may have no idea they are crossing boundaries. After all, it looks bad for the profession as a whole to have a journalist acting like Ed does in the video.
But part of me thinks you will not be listened to in part because you'll be perceived as having an "I'm better than you" attitude. And maybe he/she knows a line is being crossed but simply doesn't give a damn.
Also, does it make a difference if it's a newbie right out of school who may honestly not know any better vs. an Ed with 20 years of experience?

I was surprised it's that big. Part of the Lincoln market, which I didn't realize.

If someone told Ed to knock it off, it would be one less thing for us to mock on this board.

Knock yourself out. I'm sure he'll listen. Here's his email: ed.littler@khastv.com (Be sure to tell him Teri Hatcher is brilliant on his second-favorite TV show!)

    OK. We'll mock you instead.
