  1. This is not me, but found this on a blog, and this maybe better articulates what I was trying to say ...

I bet "he'd give you the shirt off his back" ... to get it autographed!

It's just so damn easy for some apologist to say "he's harmless." And that's why I and others keep harping on it.

He's NOT harmless. He makes it easier for the other journalists in that room to not be taken seriously.

Cant believe he was forced to pay for a stolen camera. That could be close to a yearly wage.

Ed can be a "nice, quirky" guy in another line of work...if you can't adhere to basic journalistic standards, then get out.

I think the worst part is the only thing he seems to regret in his explanation is that somebody caught it on camera. An old girlfriend I had just started going out with more than 20 years ago (when I was a helluva lot younger than this guy) asked me to get her an autograph from an NBA star I was going to be talking to the next day. Told her nicely there was no fucking way I could do that and she understood.

You must be a "media" member.

He was probably too busy chasing autographs to keep an eye on his camera.

Ferentz was asked about it yesterday at Iowa's media day.

"It was unique. It was unique. Just trying to help him out."

Now, that may be where I draw the line on this, asking Ferentz what he thought about the fanboi.

That's just diving in with both feet, wearing steel heels.

I stand behind the guy being criticized by his peers, but to call him out like this?
