    You don't live L.A. when you work in Palmdale. You're lucky (and how strange this sounds) to be able to afford to live in Palmdale.

    They don't fuck around in Berdoo. Those killings include kids playing basketball on school grounds.

    Indeed.

    Yes, that's actual deaths from low- or high-caliber lead poisoning. It actually trails the 43 from '03.

    One a couple months ago included Ozell Jones, a former Cal State Fullerton hoops player who had a cup of coffee in the NBA. I didn't even know he lived up here.

    And Kable, I'd apply for this job and not think twice. You could -- and probably have -- done a lot worse.
